Key Position Details: 0.6 FTE (48 hours per two-week pay period) 8-hour day shifts No weekends Job Description: Addresses the financial payment and insurance function of the patient experience. Counsels patients regarding financial obligations and insurance payments. Handles patient complaints. Principle Responsibilities Responsible for receiving and resolving patient billing inquires and complaints. Documents concerns and resolutions to issues. Assists with the referral process and prior authorizations for complimentary and procedural services that are performed. Acts as a patient liaison with billing offices, providers and payers. Answers patient questions regarding services, pricing quotes, and insurance coverage questions. May coordinate medical and legal requests. Identifies, updates and corrects information in work queue. Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Must be 18 years of age with education and/or experience needed to meet required functional competencies as listed on the job description 0 to 2 years of medical office experience 0 to 2 years of medical terminology knowledge 0 to 2 years of customer service experience Preferred Qualifications High school diploma or GED Associate's or Vocational degree 0 to 2 years of medical insurance knowledge Physical Demands Light Work: Lifting weight up to 20 lbs. occasionally, up to 10 lbs. frequently Pay Range Pay Range: $20.32 to $27.68 per hour The pay described reflects the base hiring pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable). Shift, weekend and/or other differentials may be available to increase your pay rate for certain shifts or work.
