Acara Solutions seeks highly qualified candidates to work onsite for our client in Cincinnati, OH. Interested?

Here's what you'd do:

  • Analog and digital design of ruggedized electronics for ordnance applications.
  • Circuit tolerance analyses using hand calculations and Spice tools.
  • Requirements development, refinement, and compliance.
  • Generate test plans and test reports related to product performance (Brassboard, Design Verification, Qualification, Firing Properties).
  • Perform test activities in all phases of the product development cycle.
  • Assist in failure investigations using structured tools (8D, Fishbone, Cause & Effect).
  • Generate material for design reviews for all phases of the product development cycle.
  • Generate Engineering Orders (EOs) and Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs).
  • Multi-task across several projects simultaneously.

Pay: $55.00-$60.00 / hr

Hours: 4/10 / Week

Length: Temp to Direct (12 months)

Job Requirements

Required Skills:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 8 years of Electrical Engineering experience.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in designing with basic analog building blocks, including differential amplifiers, op amps, LDOs, filters, and data converters.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience with module design, including component selection, circuit analysis, circuit design, and layout.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in troubleshooting using standard lab equipment (oscilloscopes, function generators, meters).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in designing with basic digital building blocks, including logic gates, flip flops, timers, and filters.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in modeling and simulation utilities (LTSpice, MATLAB/Simulink).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in schematic capture and board layout utilities (Altium, PADS).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in leading a large-scale technical project from start to completion with minimal guidance.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in preparing and participating in design reviews (internal and external).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in creating Technical Documentation (Test Plans, Test Reports, Drawings).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with power supply and power conditioning design.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with power conversion concepts (AC/DC, DC/DC, and DC/AC, Linear and Switching Supplies).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with serial communication buses, including UART, SPI, and I2C.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with Temperature sensors, MEMS accelerometers, differential pressure sensors, and GYROs.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with general design best practices (EMI suppression, ESD protection, and short circuit protection).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with Root Cause analysis.

Preferred Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
  • Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in designing Electronic Safety and Arming Devices (ESADs) and Ignition Safety Devices IAW MIL-STD-1316 and MIL-STD-1901A.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in presenting ESAD/ESAF/ISD designs to the Safety Review Boards (AFSRB, FISTRP, NNMSB).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in energetic materials interfacing/testing (EFDIs, LEEFIs, Lead Charges, Boosters).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in design for extreme environments (Vibration, Shock, Temperature, Temperature & Humidity).
  • Team Player with excellent communication skills to work effectively across different engineering disciplines.
  • Teamwork
  • Good communication skills, including presentations and customer communication
  • Good reprioritization skills
  • Ability to work independently
