Job Summary

Information Technology Services (ITS) at the MCCCD is looking to add a Senior PeopleSoft Developer to the PeopleSoft Support and Development team. This role has direct influence on MCCCD's ERP including critical enterprise modules such as PeopleSoft Campus Solutions (CS), Human Capital Management (HCM), and Financial Management System (FMS). Using deep PeopleSoft technical acumen, this role supports production, ongoing development, upgrades, and enhancements for the ERP. Additionally, this position has a significant role in designing, coding, testing, debugging, and documenting all phases of application development. In collaboration with functional business analysts, this role develops exciting new functionality to meet business requirements and enhance existing applications.

Essential Functions

Must be willing and able to work in an office setting, where there is a mandatory minimum in-office expectation, which the District reserves the right to update and/or change at any time.

40% - Modifies and adapts existing code and creates new, complex programs using standard procedures and techniques with limited supervision; performs and or leads testing activities; develops new, modifies, and maintains required documentation; ensures final quality assurance and integrity of deliverables

30% - Troubleshoots, investigates, analyzes, and solves complex and escalated PeopleSoft software problems as identified by the functional team and end users

15% - Serves as technical lead for medium to large sized projects; performs technical modifications required for regular application patches and tools upgrades

10% - Collaborates with third-party vendors and Oracle Services to implement external integrations; holds vendors accountable for meeting SLAs and performance standards

5% - Mentors and provides guidance to junior developers; performs related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution in information technology, computer science, information science, engineering (any discipline), business (any discipline), computer programming, applied computing, software development, data science, database administration, mathematics (any discipline), statistics, cybersecurity, information security, network security, web development, database management, physics, economics, quantitative science, quantitative reasoning, logic and computation, or a related field and four (4) years of technical experience in programming, systems analysis, and/or the design and development of system software and applications.

OR

Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution in any discipline, with a concentration (minor) or certificate (undergraduate or graduate) in a relevant/related discipline as listed above, or with an industry certification related to information technology work, and four (4) years of technical experience in programming, systems analysis, and/or the design and development of system software and applications.

OR

An equivalent combination of the conferred degree, education, certification and directly related full-time work experience as described above sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered.

Desired Qualifications
  1. Experience using PeopleSoft Integration Broker, developing REST/SOAP web services, and PeopleSoft Documents
  2. Experience using the PeopleSoft Application Designer toolset (App Engine, App Packages, Integration Broker, Data Mover, Component Interface, PeopleCode, Page/Component)
  3. Experience with PeopleSoft Cobol and/or PeopleSoft Fluid Development
  4. Experience troubleshooting and testing Oracle/PeopleSoft ERPs (HCM/FMS/CS)
  5. Experience with other enterprise applications like ADP, Employee Learn, EPM


Special Working Conditions

There is a mandatory minimum in-office expectation, currently two days onsite, in which the District reserves the right to update at any time.

The selected candidate will need to reside in the Phoenix area or relocate within six months of hire.

This role may involve after hours work and non-regular business hours.

May be required to sit for a prolonged period of time; viewing a computer monitor.

ITS does not sponsor individuals for any type of work visas.
