TITLE: Slitter Operator B
POSITION OBJECTIVE: Operate in a safe and efficient manner so as to be a productive, while maintaining high quality.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Available for overtime per rotating schedule
- Available for cross - training with other departments
- Mechanical aptitude
- Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary.
- Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Safety: Complies with all written and verbal safety rules, using Personal Protective Equipment.
- Complete housekeeping assignments per schedule.
- Maintain roll availability for each order according to specs or production order.
- Assist adjoining lines, as required, to maximize department productivity.
- Assist in monitoring product quality and make timely line adjustment.
- Assist maintenance personnel during scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.
- Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and other lifting equipment.
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
- Assist in job changes.
- Equipment adjustments
- Fill out necessary paper work, roll tickets, scrap tickets, production tickets, running conditions, work orders, etc.
- Run the Line.
- Be able to identify problems and make adjustments.
WORK ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS SUBJECTED TO IN THIS POSITION:
- Degree of lifting 0-50lbs.
- Walking long distance
- Sitting and or Standing for a long period of time.
- Heat/ Cold weather
- Inside environmental conditions protected from weather conditions not necessarily temperature conditions.
- Outside environmental conditions, no effective protection from weather.
- Inside and outside environments apply.
- Subject to extreme cold, temperatures below 32 degrees for periods of more than one hour.
- Subject to extreme heat, temperatures above 100 degrees for periods of more than one hour.
- Subject to noise causing reason to shout in order to be heard above the noise level.
- Subject to hazards, such as moving machinery, electrical currents, falling debris, exposure to chemicals, gases, high heat or combustible materials.
- Subject to unregulated atmospheric conditions caused by orders, fumes, gases, poor ventilation and dusts.
- Subject to oils and other cutting fluids via touch or air.
TRAINING:
- Reference Master Training Record for other training requirements
AUTHORITY / DECISION MAKING:
- Authorized to operate and make machine adjustments as necessary to maintain the quality level and output required while staying within the S.O.C. and safety guidelines.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITY REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION:
- Climbing, ascending or descending ladders, stairs, and the like using feet and legs and / or hands and arms.
- Stooping, bending body downward and forward by bending spine and waist. Example: changing paper in printer, copier machine.
- Kneeling, bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees.
- Crouching, bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine.
- Reaching, extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction. Example: giving signals, reaching for material or handle on item.
- Standing, particularly for sustained periods of time. Example: making copies, giving presentations, directing traffic.
- Walking, moving out on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances.
- Lifting, raising objects from a lower to higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position. Degree of lifting: 0-50 lbs.
- Fingering, picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working primarily with fingers rather than the whole hand or arm as in handling.
- Grasping, applying pressure to an object with fingers and palm. Feeling, perceiving attributes of objects such as size, shape, temperature or texture by touching with skin, particularly that of fingertips.
- Talking, expressing or exchanging ideas by means of spoken word, via face to face or telephone.
- Hearing, perceiving the nature of sounds with no less than a 40 db loss @ 500 Hz, 1000 Hz, and 2000 Hz with or without correction. Ability to receive verbal communication and to make fine discriminations in sound, such as when making fine adjustments on machined parts.
- Balancing, maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing or crouching on narrow, slippery or erratically moving surfaces.
- Crawling, moving about on hands and knees or hands and feet.
- Pulling, using upper extremities to exert force in order to drag, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion.
- Pushing, using upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to thrust forward, downward or outward.
VISUAL ACTIVITY REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION:
- Machine operation, inspection, close assembly, clerical and administrative duties. Example: preparing and analyzing data entry, CRT exposure, extensive reading, visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, using measurement devices or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.
- Mobile equipment operations, operate cars, trucks.
- Position requires individual to differentiate colors, depth and perception.
