Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit |
The School of Education is an academic unit reporting to the Provost. The School is a major center of research, teaching, and public service within the State of North Carolina, the nation, and the world. The School offers a full range of undergraduate and graduate programs. The mission of the School of Education is to conduct research, and generate basic and applied knowledge about human development, educational technology and entrepreneurship, teaching and learning, school counseling, school psychology, administration, as well as educational policy and leadership; prepare leaders in the profession of education by conducting outstanding research, teaching, and service; and assist in the development of strong and effective public schools in North Carolina. In order to fulfill its mission, the School is organized into three academic divisions: (1) Culture, Curriculum, & Teacher Education (
CCATE), (2) Learning, Development & Psychological Sciences (
LDPS), and (3) Educational Policy, Organization, & Leadership (
EPOL). |
Position Summary |
This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement that may include a partially remote work location, consistent with System Office policy. UNC Chapel Hill employees are generally required to reside within a reasonable commuting distance of their assigned duty station.
The Clinical Partnerships and Licensure will be supervised by the Assistant Dean of Educator Preparation and Accreditation within the Office of Educator Preparation and Accreditation.
The primary purpose of the position includes to:
- Solicit and secure clinical placements for all SOE programs with students in public school settings;
- Contribute to data sharing, analysis, reporting and survey completion (Qualtrics, US News, etc.);
- Manage Pathway to Practice NC program in partnership with North Carolina State University;
- Support student learning outcomes assessment in accordance with University, state and national accreditation, and continuous program improvement;
- Support Licensure and Program Verification progress for UNC SOE alumni, and educators prepared in other UNC units (SILS, SSW, Medicine);
- Provide administrative, budget, and logistical support for the Office of Educator Preparation and Accreditation;
- Contribute to leadership for educator preparation programs, including state and national accreditation, licensure, and grant seeking.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements |
Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related discipline; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. |

Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience |
- Experience working in a higher education setting
- Familiarity with Qualtrics and database systems
- Familiarity with Title2 and IHE reporting processes
- Experience with licensure clearances processes
- Experience managing budgets, creating contracts, and arranging large meetings
- Experience generating and maintaining MOUs with K-12 partners (private and public)
- Experience working with K-12 partners for clinical placements (background checks, sex offender registry, liability insurance)
