Position Summary
This is a research sonographer position focused on performing and annotating prenatal ultrasounds within the Division of Global Women's Health, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. This role involves participating in various projects that will begin and evolve over time. The position includes patient screening, recruitment, consenting, performance of a prenatal ultrasound for research purposes, data collection and annotation.

Candidates must be able to multitask and adapt quickly to new procedures as protocols evolve. Because our research is typically embedded within clinical settings, candidates should be comfortable working at the intersection of research and clinical care and demonstrate enthusiasm for both environments. They should also feel comfortable working with pregnant individuals, including those with pregnancy complications.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Associate's degree in medical sonography, cardio/vascular sonography, or related discipline; or equivalent combination of training and experience. Some positions may require additional training, certifications, or licenses.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Certification in Obstetric/Gynecologic Ultrasound is required for this position.

Candidates must have experience in clinical research or in providing care to patients. Because our research is embedded within clinical settings, applicants should be comfortable navigating both research and clinical environments and demonstrate enthusiasm for working at their intersection. The position requires the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, investigators, staff, and study participants. Strong candidates will be self-directed, capable of working independently, and able to maintain a high level of professionalism. Given the nature of research imaging, the ability to multitask and manage shifting priorities is essential.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience

  • Prior experience performing prenatal ultrasounds in a research setting
  • Familiarity with conducting research with human subjects
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary and cross-cultural team
  • Willingness to travel to domestic or international study sites, if needed
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Capable of working independently, interpreting and applying policy and procedural guidelines appropriately, and effectively organizing workflow while managing multiple priorities.

Required Licenses/Certifications
Special Physical/Mental Requirements
Must be able to conduct ultrasound imaging for extended periods, up to 8 hours daily.
