DIVISION - LEGAL The Legal Division represents the public interest in contested cases before the State Office of Administrative Hearings (SOAH) and the Commission. The division also provides legal and policy advice to agency staff and the Commissioners. Interested in supporting legal operations in a dynamic regulatory environment? The division is hiring a Legal Secretary to provide complex to advanced legal secretarial support to attorney and legal staff. This role incudes preparing and processing legal documents, maintaining service lists and legal records, coordinating schedules and travel, assisting with hearings, and responding to public inquiries. The position plays a key role Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess the following minimum qualifications. Legal Secretary III High school graduation or GED equivalent and a minimum of two (2) years of full-time legal secretarial, high-level administrative assistant or records management experience. Legal Secretary IV High school graduation or GED equivalent and a minimum of three (3) years of full-time legal secretarial, high-level administrative assistant or records management experience. Preferred Qualifications:
WORK SCHEDULE The PUCT operates on a standard work schedule of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Employees may request an alternative work schedule in accordance with the PUCT's Alternative Work Schedule Policy. Approval of such requests, including any form of telecommuting, is at management's discretion and based on the business needs of the agency and the requirements of the position. New employees must complete a 90-day period of employment before being eligible to request telecommuting. VETERAN'S PREFERENCE Veterans, Reservists, or Guardsmen with a Military Occupation Specialty (MOS) or additional duties that fall in the fields listed in the below link who meet the minimum qualifications are encouraged to apply.
