  Fill the role as our subject matter expert for paint systems processing and optimizationSupport on-going material application processes for metal pre-treatment, e-coat, top-coat, and powder coats both within Tesla and at vendorsProvide technical support to the quality and manufacturing teams with respect to processing issuesSupport process validation for all new coating processesEstablish first principles relationships between every process stop and final paint appearanceWork with suppliers and Tesla manufacturing teams to develop new paint processing technologies that reduce energy consumption, capital equipment expenses, and floor space requirements.Lead these efforts from concept to productionWhat You'll Bring
 
  Degree in Polymer, Coatings or Materials Engineering or equivalent experienceFundamental knowledge of polymers and polymer chemistry3+ experience working with paint application processesMust possess a comprehensive knowledge of paint application processesExperience in managing process optimization, paint shop upgrades and modificationsExperience with standard analytical tools (FTIR, DSC, Rheometry, DMA, etc.)Thorough knowledge of paint processing fundamentalsCompensation and Benefits
