Texas Oncology is looking for a Research Assistant to join our team! This position will support the Dallas Sammons location. This is a full-time Monday-Friday 8:30am-5pm position with no weekends, call, or major holidays.

What does the Research Assistant do? (Including by not limited to)

Under general supervision as related to Clinical Research, this position will assist with laboratory services, maintenance of supplies, and may have the potential for direct patient care. May perform clerical, administrative, and data management functions of the department. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.


Responsibilities

The essential duties and responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Assist with collecting and processing lab specimens for research purposes.
  • Maintains supplies, drug return to pharmacy, and storage facilities for clinical research as appropriate.
  • May assist providers and clinical research staff with direct patient care including vital signs, EKGs and/or lab draws.
  • Maintains patient data files in an organized manner for easy retrieval and review. Prepares patient records for audits by regulatory, accrediting, and research organizations.
  • Assists research staff in preparing for monitoring visits.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for the position will have the following background and experience:

Education/Training -

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Three years of medical office experience preferred.
  • Oncology experience preferred.

Business Experience -

  • Experience in Microsoft Office
  • Experience with computer data entry and database management preferred

Specialized Knowledge/Skills -

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Attention to details and accuracy
