Milwaukee Public Schools is actively recruiting experienced and licensed candidates for teaching positions throughout the district in grades 4-8 for the 2025-26 school year. A Milwaukee Public Schools (MPS) teacher provides an instructional program for students which is appropriate to their educational needs and developmental level. The educational program is offered in an equitable, multi-cultural setting and teaches all children to think deeply, critically and creatively. The teacher supports the MPS strategic plan. Applicants MUST have a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Applicants with a valid teaching license from the Wisconsin Department of Public Instuction covering grades 4-8 are preferred. If you are not a licensed teacher but are interested in pursuing a teaching position, you must be willing and eligible to enroll in an accredited licensure program within one semester of hire. Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule
Teacher pay starts at $54,386.11 and increases according to a set salary schedule based on education beyond the required bachelor's degree and previous years of fully-licensed K-12 teaching experience. Equal Employment Opportunity
