- The incumbent will be responsible for managing the capacity, growth, and replacement of critical infrastructure across the Service Provider network. The role requires in-depth knowledge of mechanical systems, AC distribution, UPS, STS, generators, and site civil activities, with a strong understanding of their application within telecommunications facilities. The individual will also be involved in forecasting system growth, developing capacity plans, and supporting network expansion initiatives.
Role & Responsibilities: Capacity Management & Planning:
- Monitor and analyze critical systems growth trends to generate capacity triggers for system relief.
- Submit project capacity triggers as needed to support network expansion.
- Develop plans to augment infrastructure capacity proactively.
Project Initiation & Execution:
- Trigger projects utilizing the most feasible, practical, and economical solutions.
- Lead or support engineering projects, including design, fabrication, modification, and evaluation of equipment and devices.
- Support the acquisition and implementation of hardware, software, and subcontractor services.
Engineering & Technical Analysis:
- Perform applied research and development to support new projects.
- Analyze complex systems and customer network environments, including planning, designing, evaluating, selecting, and sizing critical infrastructure to meet requirements cost-effectively.
- Handle moderately complex engineering assignments independently.
System Configuration & Support:
- Configure systems to align with user environments.
- Read and interpret complex electrical one-line diagrams, mechanical, structural, architectural, and piping drawings.
- Support the development and updating of technical drawings using AutoCAD (floor plans, one-lines, etc.).
- Leadership & Collaboration:
- May serve as a technical project leader or provide leadership within the engineering team.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project success.
Documentation & Drawing Management:
- Create and update detailed technical drawings and schematics as necessary.
- Maintain accurate documentation for all infrastructure projects.
Qualifications & Skills:
- 6-8 years of relevant experience in telecommunications infrastructure or related fields.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, AC distribution, UPS, STS, generators, and civil activities related to telecom facilities.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex electrical, mechanical, architectural, structural, and piping drawings.
- Skilled in AutoCAD for creating and updating technical drawings.
- Capable of handling moderately complex engineering tasks with minimal guidance.
- Excellent planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
