Environmental Health & Safety Job Description
The University of Missouri holds a broad scope radioactive materials license issued by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, authorizing the clinical and research use of radioactive materials across the University Hospital, the College of Veterinary Medicine, and the main campus. This position plays a key role in supporting the safe and effective use of radioactive materials and radiation-producing equipment, contributing to the overall management of the University's radiation safety program. Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with applicable federal and state regulations, promoting a culture of safety, and providing expert guidance to personnel. The successful candidate will possess the ability to clearly communicate complex radiation safety concepts to an audience including university staff, researchers, and regulatory agencies. You'll be part of a collaborative team that values safety, integrity, and continuous improvement. This role offers exposure to diverse work environments - including laboratories, medical and veterinary facilities, and waste management operations - and provides opportunities for learning and professional development. M-F, 8 hours/day Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in related/relevant area and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary. Preferred Qualifications
Anticipated Hiring Range
