STGi is currently seeking a Dietary Manager to provide services at The William R. Courtney Texas State Veterans Home.



The William R. Courtney Texas State Veterans Home is located in Temple, TX. Our staff provides compassionate and specialized care to our nation's veterans. We focus on providing the best experience for residents and their families.



JOB SUMMARY: To support the community by ensuring the effective operation of the community's kitchen systems, the quality of the meals and maintain regulatory compliance.



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


1. Follow oral and written instructions.


2. Assist in planning diets and menus for review by the consultant.


3. Implement diets and menus approved by the consultant and assume responsibility to oversee dietary staff prepare and serve those diets accordingly.


4. Purchase or requisition food and supplies in accordance with menus and within budget..


5. Implement the dietary component of residents' assessments and care plans.


6. Document each resident's progress toward care plan goals.


7. Complete the assigned MDS section(s) in a timely manner.


8. Review and revise each resident's care plan as necessary.


9. Interview residents and determine specific dietary needs and preferences. Assure dietary staff adheres to same.


10. Review residents' triggering a Q1 related to nutritional status and eating function to determine if there is a problem or concern that can be resolved, improved or addressed in a different manner to improve the resident's nutritional status and eating function.


11. Maintain records of meal census, menus, diet cardex, diet roster, diets served and purchase records.


12. Be responsible for communicating pertinent information to dietary Team Members.


13. Inform and educate residents and family members regarding therapeutic diets.


14. Monitor and assess resident weight.


15. Plan and conduct in-service training program. As well as completing those required for my position


16. Plan food substitutions for residents who refuse or are unable to eat food served.


17. Maintain file of standardized recipes.


18. Participate in Team Member selection, evaluation and termination


19. Implement dietary policies and procedures and food service position agreements.


20. Assume responsibility for compliance with sanitation requirements.


21. Ensure proper maintenance of equipment.


22. Ensure the On Boarding process is adhered to effectively and consistently for all potential and current team members.


23. Perform other related duties as directed by his/her supervisor.


24. Come to work as scheduled and consistently demonstrate dependability and punctuality.


25. Consistently work cooperatively with residents, residents' representatives, Community staff, physicians, consultants and ancillary service providers.


26. Financial performance consistent with yearly budgeted levels


27. Clinical performance consistent with regulatory levels


28. Food quality performance consistent with written expectations.

Required Skills

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:


A current Food Service Supervisor certification required. Minimum of one year of experience as a food service supervisor in long term care preferred.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:


High School diploma or GED. A current Food Service Supervisor certification required.

The physical demands and work environment described herein is a representative of those that generally must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job:


* This position primarily involves standing, walking, twisting, reaching, bending/stooping, pushing and pulling (typical weight of 15 lbs. and maximum weight of 75 lbs., approximately), and lifting (minimum weight of 15 lbs. and maximum weight of 100 lbs., approximately).


* The position requires repetitive finger movements as well as hearing and talking on the phone and in person.


* Must be able to continuously deal effectively with stress created by residents, multiple tasks, noises, interruptions, and work cooperatively as part of the health care team while maintaining a pleasant attitude.
