Job Summary

Assists in the management of IT projects against the strategic, operations and financial plans of the district. Directs IT support for district projects. Develops and implements project management standards, synthesizes project-related metrics, reports and timelines. Communicates the status of projects to technology management, key stakeholders and the senior team.

The salary range is $89,566.51 - 129,053 (12 months/260 days)

This position may allow for a hybrid remote work schedule (work from home for a portion of the workweek) within the state of Wisconsin.

Qualifications

  • Position requires a bachelor's degree in information technology, business management or a similar field, a master's degree is preferred. A combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Project management coursework and/or certification preferred
  • ITIL change management experience desired
  • Previous supervisory experience is helpful
  • Five or more years of project management experience within the IT field
  • Previous experience working in an educational environment will be given a priority
Responsibilities

  • Assists in the development of IT project management strategy.
  • Provides direction and guidance to department staff for project scheduling, customer issues and organizational strategies, policies and procedures.
  • Defines and monitors issues and risks to ensure mitigation plans are effective and executed to completion.
  • Facilitates appropriate project management meetings with functional departments to keep stakeholders and project teams informed about project status, risks and issues and key project deliverables.
  • Provides monthly updates to department directors/managers on the status of ongoing projects affecting their area. Attend regularly scheduled functional departmental meetings serving as a liaison between technology and functional areas.
  • Resolves and /or escalates issues to appropriate management in a timely manner.
  • Coordinates with the District staff and technology department to ensure appropriate project delivery, as needed.
  • Conducts project close-out reviews; ensures all deliverables are completed, objectives met, and work quality met; and ensures a project plan with a lessons learned analysis is accomplished and documented.
  • Identifies areas for the development (or revision) and implementation of policies or procedures affecting Project Management services.
  • Keeps updated in project management strategies through attendance at seminars, professional meetings, current literature and research.
  • Ensure the district project management strategies are implemented for a broad range of staff.
  • Actively supports the MPS Strategic Plan.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
