Cleveland-Cliffs is in search of an IT Systems Integration Engineer at our Burns Harbor, IN location. As a Systems Integration Engineer, they would be responsible for and be involved in all technical aspects of the development, implementation, and support of messaging interfaces between various Information Technology (IT) platforms.

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Perform hands-on work in the identification, definition, design, coding, testing, implementation, and support of interfaces between host system (MES System) and external systems (SAP, Level 2, Legacy Mainframe).
  • Develop and maintain technical specifications related to interfaces.
  • Design, code, test and implement .Net Windows, Web applications and Windows Services using OOPs concepts and ASP.NET MVC.
  • Develop, execute, and document integration test plan and test scripts.
  • Work with the IT infrastructure group to set up or maintain MES environments for development, testing, and production.
  • Design, develop and implement data storage solutions, build and maintain data pipelines, maintain data models and schemas for data warehouse and reporting solutions.
  • Implement data governance and design principles for the development of cloud-based data warehousing solutions.
  • Provide as needed assistance to the report developers / BI developers. Track down the Production orders for troubleshooting. Design and develop System Integration SQL Server Database as needed for Message Transformations through Biztalk Server.
  • Support various Biztalk Server components. Create tables with parent and child relationships using Primary Key and Foreign Key and create indexes for improved performance.
  • Analyze and resolve database constraints like Column check constraints, Default Values, Not Null.
  • Develop Generic windows services to Automate the historic data purging in multiple databases (SQL Server/Oracle.
  • Maintain and deploy the Data Warehouse and .Net (windows/web) apps in all environments, i.e., Development, QA, Test and Production.
  • Follow IT Change Management process for implementation of changes in production environment.
  • Maintain necessary documentation to show compliance with the process. Build Automated tools wherever needed to automate the manual processes.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or related field
  • Three years of experience as a Systems Integration Engineer, Computer Programmer, .Net Developer, or related.
  • Must have 3 years of experience with: database design, including the ability to write PL/SQL (Oracle) and T-SQL (SQL Server) queries for data verification/troubleshooting; web and windows development using .Net Technologies; coding in object-oriented programming (OOP) languages like VB, C#; developing, testing, and implementing ETL/Integration Services (SSIS), Analysis Services (SSAS), Reporting Services (SSRS) and BI Solutions (Power BI). XML schemas, MQ and MSMQ messaging protocol.
  • Ability to build or maintain interfaces between systems including Biztalk/MSMQ; and collaborating with multiple teams and coordinating activities.
  • 2 years of experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (PSI MES) in the context of the steel industry.
  • Experience with two full cycles of software solution implementation (requirements gathering, design, development, testing and commissioning) as a systems integrator.
