SEI's Privacy Office is responsible for the governance of personal, confidential, and proprietary data processed by SEI. In this role, you will help implement and promote that governance by applying the SEI Privacy Program Framework across assigned business areas or technical domains. You will support the creation and maintenance of the record of processing activities and contribute to the broader data privacy and protection program through activities such as risk assessments, development and tracking of remediation plans, third-party vendor assessments, and investigation of low- and medium-risk incident responses. This job is hybrid and requires 3 days per week in our Oaks, PA Headquarters. What you will do: Strategic Governance & Legal Oversight
Support data governance activities by helping to define and enforce controls related to data access, classification, retention, and minimization. Ensure that personal, confidential, and proprietary data is processed in accordance with SEI's Privacy Program Framework and aligned with enterprise data governance standards. Analyze and implement the governance controls for the processing of personal, confidential, and proprietary data as it is processed (acquired, used, stored, and shared) in connection with contractual obligations or carried out in the public interest. Apply knowledge and understanding of U.S. data privacy laws-including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA), and SEC Regulation S-P-as well as international frameworks such as the EU's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), and emerging AI governance laws. These include the European Union's Artificial Intelligence Act (AI Act) and the Colorado Artificial Intelligence Act (SB24-205), which establish requirements for transparency, risk management, and accountability in the use of high risk AI systems. Use this knowledge to analyze data processing activities, assess compliance obligations, and provide oversight and guidance across business units and technical domains. Remain current on updates to GDPR, CPRA, PIPEDA and other current and emerging privacy legislation and regulations.
Operational Execution & Documentation
Research, critically assess, and document processing activities in records of processing, data protection impact assessments (DPIAs), privacy impact assessments (PIAs), and vendor assessment questionnaires. Apply and record findings, including technical and organizational measures, in the company's enterprise privacy platform and system of record, OneTrust.
Collaboration & Program Leadership
Work collaboratively and effectively with internal and external subject matter experts (SMEs), as well as stakeholders across the enterprise, including Information Security and Third Party Vendor Management colleagues. Support the Chief Privacy Officer (CPO) in auxiliary discussions with SMEs, clarifying goals and data privacy compliance and improvement objectives. Take ownership of assigned privacy initiatives and lead specific workstreams independently, while escalating complex issues to the CPO as needed. Exercise sound judgment in prioritizing tasks and making decisions that align with the organization's privacy strategy. Working with the CPO, document recommendations based on analysis findings to support data privacy compliance improvements. In close collaboration with the CPO, lead and facilitate group discussions and working groups promoting data privacy governance, identifying data storage locations, and securing ever improving business buy-in for the data privacy program.
