General Maintenance Worker (GMW) - JLL Painter/ Drywall Repair/ Handyman What this job involves: JLL is seeking a motivated Painter, Drywall Repair, and General Maintenance Worker for a daytime position supporting an operations and maintenance contract in Atlanta, GA. What your day-to-day will look like: This Local 926 AFL-CIO Union position offers comprehensive benefits including employer contributions to union pension fund for every hour worked, full family medical insurance coverage at no cost to the employee, and paid vacation and sick leave. Compensation includes an excellent hourly wage with scheduled annual increases, overtime opportunities for additional income, and eleven paid holidays annually with automatic pension increases each year. On-the-job training is provided, though candidates with high-quality skills and experience in general maintenance work are preferred for this opportunity. Primary responsibilities include conducting facility tours, performing service calls and diagnostic services, executing preventive maintenance duties according to JLL standards and manufacturer recommendations including filter changes, coil cleaning, and equipment inspections. Maintenance tasks encompass repairs to walls, carpet tiles, ceiling tiles, painting, and plumbing fixtures such as water closets, urinals, flush valve assemblies, and lavatories as required. Workers perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on all equipment and systems outlined in the employer's contract while completing additional duties as directed by management. Experience with pumps, motors, fans, pipe fitting, water supply repairs, and drain pipe work is preferred, with additional HVAC training provided for skill development and advancement opportunities within the team. Preferred Qualifications: General maintenance worker experience is preferred for this position, particularly with hands-on work involving pumps, motors, fans, and various pipe fitting applications including supply water pipe repairs and drainage system maintenance. Comprehensive on-the-job training is provided for both the General Maintenance Worker position and specialized HVAC systems, allowing team members to develop new skills and qualify for advancement opportunities within the organization when they demonstrate readiness. Experience working with mechanical equipment such as pumps, motors, and fans is highly valued, along with plumbing skills including pipe fitting, water supply system repairs, and drain pipe maintenance and troubleshooting. Exceptions to the preferred experience requirements are possible and will be considered on a case-by-case basis, as the company recognizes that motivated individuals can successfully develop these skills through proper training and mentorship.
