Job Summary

The Powertrain Engineering Manager is an engineering leadership position accountable for leading direct reports, and cross-functional teams, to deliver Powertrain projects within the Life Cycle Plan to Quality, Cost, and Timing targets. The role is responsible for leading technical integration and technical correctness of all parts and systems. It will consider total vehicle scope and provide technical oversight in project design reviews and toward parts and accessories projects. In addition, the role will lead the development and implementation of system strategies and technology roadmaps for function-specific content across the Harley-Davidson vehicle portfolio.

Job Responsibilities

  • Leads the execution of large projects including the estimation, allocation and deployment of resources
  • Provides leadership and insight into technical feasibility as well as the design review process
  • Delegate responsibilities and empower team members to make decisions, when appropriate
  • Manage performance of direct reports, and guide in their technical and professional development
  • Demonstrates good communication and collaboration throughout the company and with suppliers
  • Continuous Improvement Mentor/Coach, help drive Best Practice sharing

Education Requirements
Bachelor's Degree Required
Education Specifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical field.
  • Technical Master's Degree is preferred.

Experience Requirements

  • Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience.
  • Demonstrated expert knowledge and experience in Powertrain design and vehicle Integration
  • Proven track record of project management and supervisory or mentoring experience is preferred
  • General understanding of CAD tools, GD&T, engineering calculations, and analysis experience (FEA, CFD)
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in understanding of manufacturing processes
  • Demonstrated use of problem-solving and avoidance tools (Red-X, 8D, FMEA)

The pay range shown represents the national average pay range for this role. Your pay may be more or less than the stated range and is dependent on your geographic location and level of experience.
