What you'll own as the Lead Business Systems Analyst - API's

As a Lead Business Systems Analyst - API's, you will act as the voice of the customer to ensure that our teams continue to deliver more best-in-breed products that advance the way we pay, bank and invest. You will workaspartofateaminascrumsettingand must be aself-motivated,proactive,andout-of-the-boxthinker.

Technical & Analytical Expertise

  • API Requirements Analysis: Skilled in gathering, analyzing, and documenting business and technical requirements for RESTful APIs, including endpoint definitions, request/response payloads, authentication, and error handling.

  • System Integration: Experience in mapping data flows between systems and defining integration points using APIs, ensuring seamless communication across platforms.

  • Swagger/OpenAPI Documentation: Proficient in reviewing and contributing to API specifications using tools like Swagger, Postman, and OpenAPI.

  • Use Case & Sequence Diagrams: Create detailed use cases, sequence diagrams, and data flow diagrams to support API development and testing.

  • Testing & Validation: Collaborate with QA teams to define test cases for API functionality, performance, and security; use tools like Postman or SoapUI for validation.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Team Leadership: Act as a leader in cross-functional teams through the full software development lifecycle, ensuring alignment between business goals and technical execution.

  • Mentorship: Provide guidance and support to junior analysts, fostering growth and knowledge sharing across the team.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure API solutions meet business needs and are delivered on time.

  • Project Ownership: Estimate work effort, manage timelines, and ensure successful delivery of API-related initiatives within scope and budget.

Process & Methodology

  • Agile & SAFe Methodologies: Work within Agile frameworks (Scrum, SAFe) to manage API-related deliverables and documentation.

  • Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify opportunities for process optimization and innovation in API development and business analysis practices.

What you'll bring

* Knowledge and an understanding of end-to-end systems development life cycles.

* A bachelor's degree in computer science or information systems or equivalent experience - Master's degree is desirable.

* 10+ years' experience developing large, complex API solutions that require analysis and research

* Excellent customer service skills that build high levels of customer satisfaction for internal and external clients

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills to technical and non-technical audiences of various levels in the organization, e.g., executive, management, individual contributors

* Excellent analytical, decision-making, problem-solving, team, and time management skills

* Experience acting as a coach and mentor for junior team members

* Ability to estimate work effort for project sub-plans or small projects and ensure the project is successfully completed

* Is resourceful and proactive in gathering information and sharing ideas

The pay range for this full-time position is $113,600.00 - $190,900.00 and reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position based on the posted role, level, and location. Within the range, actual individual starting pay is determined by additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Any changes in work location will also impact actual individual starting pay. Please consult with your recruiter about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.This position is eligible for bonus. The job duties outlined above may be directly, and negatively impacted by a criminal history, which could lead to the withdrawal of a conditional offer.
