History Department: The UCF History Department studies the past in service to the present and the future, working with partners locally, nationally and internationally to produce new perspectives on the past for scholars and the general public. Public history can be defined as the many and diverse ways we put history to work in the world. UCF's Public History program provides students with opportunities to learn the theory and practice of how to engage the public in "doing" history through undergraduate classes, class projects, and internships; a track within the master's program; and graduate-level internships and publicly engaged research projects. The Opportunity: The History Department is searching for an Administrative Assistant I to support the Public History Initiative. The Public History Initiative supports a number of projects and programming, including, RICHES (Regional Initiative for Collecting the History, Experiences and Stories of Central Florida), the Veterans History Project, and other department grant funded initiatives. Responsibilities:
