Performs a variety of duties to ensure the proper materials and equipment are available in all anesthetizing locations. These duties encompass disinfection of anesthesia equipment, maintaining an adequate supply of stocked items, participation in operating room/procedural room turnover and assisting the anesthesia/perioperative teams as requested.

Responsibilities
- 1. Sets up all anesthesia cases with supplies and equipment in an accurate and timely manner in all anesthesia locations.
- 2. Disinfects anesthesia/patient care equipment according to established procedures in a timely manner.
- 3. Participates in OR/Procedural room turnover according to established procedures and in a timely manner.
- 4. Maintains an inventory of non-disposable supplies, sterile disposable and clean items to ensure par level are kept at all times.
- 5. Delivers appropriate materials and specialized equipment to operating rooms as requested.
- 6. Restocks and cleans anesthesia cabinets, supply carts and epidural/spinal carts in all anesthetizing locations as needed.
- 7. Provides assistance with positioning and lifting patients.
- 8. Monitors progress of all operating rooms, appropriately and efficiently prepares OR/procedural rooms for add-on, urgent and emergency cases.
- 9. Keeps Anesthesia schedules and Board up-to-date with cases and staff assignments.
- 10. Receives and relays messages and requests accurately and in a timely fashion, responding to urgent/emergent situations.
- 11. Insures all supplies and equipment are properly received and put away. Monitors expiration dates of all supplies in the stockroom, in carts and in all OR/procedural locations.
- 12. Maintains job competency on specialized equipment per hospital policy. Participates in unit level in-service and education sessions to include but not limited to staff meetings and simulations.
- 13. Obtains blood products from Blood Bank and follows proper procedures for retrieving and delivering all items.
- 14. Meets performance expectations for Customer Service, Teamwork, Resource Utilization, and Staff and Self Development as outlined in performance review.
- 15. Performs other duties as assigned or directed to ensure smooth operation of the department/unit.
Qualifications
EDUCATION High school diploma or equivalent required. EXPERIENCE One year experience in Anesthesia preferred or related work experience required LICENSURE BLS Required. SPECIAL SKILLS CPR certification required. Anesthesia Technician Certification required within two years of hire date. Medical Terminology preferred.
