For more information about the company and product line visit: www.sigsauer.com Position Summary: The Electrical Engineer I is responsible for developing and implementing simple to moderately complex new product designs and improving legacy products as assigned. Responsibilities also include completing analyses to support design decisions. This entry-level position in the R&D department is generally intended for relatively recent graduates with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. The Electrical Engineer I will work both independently and in a team environment with Electrical Engineers, Design Engineers, Project Managers, and Test Technicians. They will collaborate with other departments including Manufacturing, QC, and Assembly. FLSA: Exempt Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop innovative electrical component level designs in Altium to meet product requirements.
- Develop PCBA layout drawings in Altium and perform component and assembly tolerance analysis, as necessary.
- Process PCBA's, layouts, and drawings thru the PLM system.
- Contribute to R&D projects in a team setting to meet project delivery dates.
- Perform testing and analyze test data.
- Contribute to test reports to determine if design and process meets functional and performance specifications.
- Hands on facilitation of prototype production, assembly, and testing.
- Develop a strong knowledge of manufacturing principles and assembly procedures to evaluate newly designed or modified products.
- Access technical information (i.e., process records, schematics drawings, SOP's, prototype, and fixture drawings) as needed to evaluate and support product design operations.
- Provide technical assistance to component and fabrication suppliers.
- Engage in and actively volunteer for Continuous Improvement projects/tasks.
- Must be able to travel

- Participate in and sustain 5S Standards.
- Must follow all required Safety and ISO procedures.
- Regular on-site attendance and punctuality is a necessary function of this position.
- May be required to work in other functional areas and/or facilities depending on business needs.
- May be required to work overtime or alternate shifts based on business needs.
- Miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Education/Experience & Skills:
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering required, 0-3 years of electrical engineering experience preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Demonstrate the ability to use the following software programs; Altium, LabView, Arduino, and C/C++ development environments.
- Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Classwork and practical electrical engineering design experience.
- Ability to interpret technical instructions in schematic, mathematical, or diagram form.
- Demonstrate the ability to understand supplier capabilities and processes in the manufacture of components to required specifications.
- Ability to write reports and procedures, and effectively present information to team members and management.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Experience using and maintaining firearms is preferred.
- Must be able to clearly, concisely, and accurately convey ideas and information to others, in English, both verbally and in written form.
Working Conditions:
- Regularly perform repetitive tasks.
- Work is primarily standing (90 + % of the shift) except for lunch and break periods.
- Shifts are 8 hours, 10 hours, and 12 hours.
- The duties of this job normally require exposure to a typical manufacturing environment. Frequent standing, sitting, stooping, squatting, walking, and stair climbing can be expected along with frequent lifting and/or moving of tooling, parts containers, and materials up to 40 pounds.
- Must be able to reach with hands and arms, bend and kneel frequently at a minimum of 50% of the shift, as well as undergo repetitive wrist, hand, elbow, shoulder, and ankle motions.
- Must demonstrate proficient fine motor skills, ability to grip, reach, pull, turn, and use tools to torque fixtures in various machinery or in the assembly, machining, or testing of parts.
- Specific vision abilities required may include close vision, distance vision, peripheral and depth perception, and the ability to focus on fine print.
- Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) where required.
- Must comply with all work exposure EH&S training requirements and adhere to SIG SAUER Inc. security mandates.
