Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit
The Office of Scholarships and Student Aid works to ensure that qualified students have the opportunity to study at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill regardless of their ability to pay. The office serves students at all levels, including graduate and professional school students and coordinates all student financial support for the campus. The office assists in the recruitment, retention and success of students while maximizing available funds, exercising good stewardship of those funds, and performing related research, analysis and program evaluation in support of long-range enrollment and campus goals. In addition, the office provides academic and co-circular support services for scholarships, provides financial literacy and educational tools, and partners with faculty and other student success areas across campus to provide excellent service to low- and middle-income students and other scholarship recipients. The work of the office is public in nature and closely scrutinized by students and their families, lawmakers, faculty and staff at the University, and by the media (local, regional, and national).
Position Summary
The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is seeking an Impact and Outreach coordinator for the Carolina Financial Well-Being Center ( CFWC). This role is critical to the Center's efforts to raise awareness about financial wellness resources and basic needs support for students.
The Assistant Director will lead the Center's outreach strategy by managing tabling events, resource fairs, class visits, and promotional campaigns. This individual will also develop and implement tracking tools to assess student engagement, program impact, and outreach effectiveness, helping shape future programming through data-driven insights.
In addition to outreach and reporting, the Assistant Director will collaborate with peer educators and campus partners to ensure consistent messaging and accessible student support.

Key Responsibilities:
Outreach and Engagement Strategy
Plan, coordinate, and execute outreach activities including tabling events, information fairs, and classroom presentations. Represent the CFWC at campus-wide initiatives to promote awareness of financial wellness and basic needs resources.

Event and Campaign Management
Organize logistics, staffing, and promotional materials for financial wellness events. Collaborate with peer coaches and campus partners to increase visibility and participation.

Data Collection and Reporting
Design and maintain reporting tools to monitor student participation, service usage, and outreach metrics. Prepare regular reports for internal stakeholders to evaluate impact and inform decision-making.

Peer Educator Collaboration
Support peer financial coaches by helping them develop outreach strategies and materials. Provide training or oversight related to event planning and data tracking.

Marketing and Communications Support
Assist with developing and distributing outreach content through digital and print channels, including social media, newsletters, and flyers.

Campus and Community Partnerships
Build relationships with academic departments, student organizations, and community groups to expand the reach of the Center's programs and services.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Experience planning and executing outreach or engagement campaigns
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects
Proficiency with spreadsheets, surveys, and data visualization tools
Commitment to supporting student success, especially for under-resourced populations
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Experience with data collection, assessment, or program evaluation
Background in financial wellness or basic needs programming
Special Physical/Mental Requirements
Campus Security Authority Responsibilities

This position is designated as a Campus Security Authority in accordance with the Clery Act. This position will be required to report Clery crimes to the Clery Compliance Manager and complete annual training about reporting responsibilities.
