Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit
The Office of the University Registrar ( OUR) serves several key duties as set from the Faculty Code of University Government:

1) OUR serves as the keeper of the academic records of all students registered in the University and issues official transcripts and reports of such records; 2) conducts the registration of all students in the University; 3) prepares and publishes the class and examination schedules; and 4) administers the faculty regulations relating to the removal of academic deficiencies incurred in this University and to compliance with probation and readmission requirements.

To fulfill these duties the office has following core service areas for and on behalf of the university community, including students, alumni, administration, faculty, staff, and other constituents.

Position Summary
The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill seeks candidates for the position of Communications/Curriculum Specialist in the Office of the University Registrar ( OUR). This position will maintain appropriate controls in order to maintain the integrity of all UNC-CH curricular documents and systems. The Communication/Curriculum Specialist will assist with the design and implementation of new curriculum-related systems, creation and editing of university publications. This position will serve as the editorial liaison between University Registrar units, other campus units, photographers, university offices, and external campus partners in the planning, writing, and/or assembly of publications and thoroughly proofread writing, artwork and proofs for quality and accuracy and ensure that corrections are made. Additionally, this position will help coordinate commencement program delivery on commencement weekend.

Additionally, the Communications/Curriculum Specialist will coordinate the maintenance of the Master Inventory of Programs informing appropriate staff of approved program changes, including changes in program requirements, degree/major/minor titles, and general education requirements. The Communications/Curriculum Specialist will coordinate the correction of all electronic and printed materials regarding the curriculum and assist with the management and maintenance of the related PeopleSoft tables.
The Communications/Curriculum Specialist will assist with the editing of the published Undergraduate Catalog and the Graduate Catalog; serve as a resource to campus on all issues related to curriculum, and perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Must have customer service experience and the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines. Candidate should also possess strong communication skills, organizational skills, and ability to problem-solve and apply policies and procedures to resolve complex situations.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Experience working with the public in a university setting is preferred. Experience updating student records in a Student Information System within a higher education setting is preferred. Previous PeopleSoft experience preferred.
