Responsible for conducting a full range of activities required to research, prepare, submit, and manage grant proposals. Research, advocate and support products and services to meet the needs of our low-income community. Responsible for creating products to assist low income member and non-members. These products should assist with securing and maintaining the CDFI designation. Act as the lead and/or to educate staff and community partners on CDFI products and services. Maintain records and documentation. Track statistics and trends relevant to development and provide reports. Comply with all grant submission requirements. Act as liaison with external grant funders and consultants. Work with internal departments to obtain information necessary for grant submissions. Create and maintain partnerships with community organizations to meet our mission as a Community Development Credit Union (CDCU). Support Community Financial Education within community schools and community organizations by delivering CASE Financial Education seminars. Position will entail spending 75% of time on Community Development and 25% of time on Community Financial Education. (position will be hybrid work schedule after training)
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

1. Collaborate with community organizations to help develop and implement community programs and products.
  1. Determine the needs of low-moderate income clients and be cognizant of opportunities to propose new products and services.
  2. Present new products and services or current products and services to community organization's clients.
  3. Research and identify best practices and comparable programs of other financial institutions on an ongoing basis.
  4. Research established programs and products aimed at low-income and/or CDFI target market.


2. Build and strengthen partnerships with community organizations to improve the credit union's reputation in the community.
  1. Regularly visit organizations and present CASE's products and services that will meet their client's needs.
  2. Participate in the community organization's events as a representative of CASE Credit Union.
  3. Act as a liaison between various organizations to increase opportunities to share our products and services in the community. Report your activities quarterly.

3. Compile studies, conduct research, prepare proposals for appropriate programs and products.
  1. Determine need of the community and research best practices and comparable programs of other financial institutions.
  2. Prepare and present formal proposals to the Service Team.

4. Meet the mission of a community development credit union of serving low- and moderate-income people in our community.
  1. Find avenues to reach low-moderate income non-members and community groups to assist them in becoming more financially stable.
  2. Advocate to governmental and community partners the benefits of CASE CU's products and services that will assist their under and unbanked clients.
  3. Partner with CASE's Community Financial Education Coordinator to bring financial education, as needed to their client base.

5. Grant writing
  1. Facilitate grants for CASE Credit Union's members to obtain funding for FHLBI programs.
  2. Facilitate grant opportunities for CASE CU to obtain funding that will offer opportunities to grow its community development initiatives.
  3. Identity and facilitate other (OSCUI, MCUF, Community) grant opportunities to obtain funding that will grow our community development initiatives.

6. Participate in Community Financial Education events.
    1. Deliver seminars to community and school groups to provide financial education within our communities.
    2. Assist in developing relationships with community groups to educate group members, especially the unbanked and underserved.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience ReQuired: An Associate's degree in Communications, Marketing, Non-Profit or related field of study plus 3 years experience OR Bachelor's degree plus 1-year experience in Marketing and/or Communications and/or Non-Profit

Experience Required: 1-3 years of research, writing and analytical experience and/or 1-3 years in non-profit fundraising, community relations field
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE: Understanding of Credit Union operations, products and services Knowledge of or prior experience in grant writing
