DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Database Administrator 1, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks related to database management. This includes designing, developing, implementing, and supporting databases, as well as planning and implementing maintenance tasks such as database reorganization and conversion. You will also play a key role in managing system performance, utilizing diagnostic tools and reports to identify and address any issues. Furthermore, you will work closely with other information technology (IT) professionals to plan and implement database access techniques and address any performance concerns. Your role also involves developing data models and providing guidance to database analysts, ensuring that all managed databases have proper security measures in place. Overall, your responsibilities in this position are crucial for maintaining efficient and secure databases that support various systems and applications.

- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to 3 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Five years of information technology experience that includes two years in the analysis, design, and maintenance of databases in overall support of database administration; or
- One year as a Database Analyst or Information Technology Generalist 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Three years of information technology experience that includes two years in the analysis, design, and maintenance of databases in overall support of database administration, and an associate's degree in any information technology field; or
- One year of information technology experience in the analysis, design, and maintenance of databases in overall support of database administration, and a bachelor's degree in any information technology field; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
