Undergrad Teaching Assistant:
MICB 4215 - Advanced Laboratory: Microbial Physiology and Diversity

Course is offered in:
Fall 2025

Days of the week and time of the course:
T/Th 12:20pm - 3:00pm

Hours per week:
10

Job Duties:
* Guides students through lab exercises
* Prepare and present befit introductory lectures
* Grading weekly problem set assignments
* Grading mid-terms and final exam
* Answer student emails or Canvas posts about class content or make up work
* Attend weekly TA meetings
* Maintain grading records
* Maintain student attendance records

Qualifications

TA Required Qualifications:
Have an undergraduate BA or BS in Microbiology or a related field
Strong written and oral presentation Skills

TA Preferred Qualifications:
Previously taken this course
Be a current MICaB student
Previous teaching experience

The Department of Microbiology and Immunology is a community of scholars committed to discovering and disseminating knowledge about the microbial world. Our interests and expertise encompass some of the most exciting areas of contemporary microbiology and immunology, ranging from the physiology and development of microorganisms, the molecular pathogenesis of infections, and fundamental aspects of immunity.

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $20.00 for those without a 4 year degree, $30.00 for those with a 4 year degree; depending on education/qualifications/experience

Student workers are eligible to participate in the Student Health Benefit Plan, if they maintain 6 or more eligible course credits within a given semester. The same applies for Undergraduate Students, Graduate Assistants, Residents, Fellows and Interns.
