Could you be the full-time onsite Automatic Train Control Engineer in Jamaica, NY, US we're looking for?

Your future role

"Take on a new challenge and apply your Automatic Train Control (ATC) expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You'll work alongside collaborative and safety-focused teammates.
You'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of the ATC system, contributing to seamless and safe railway operations. Day-to-day, you'll work closely with teams across the business (engineering, contractors, and client stakeholders), provide expert technical support on system upgrades and maintenance, and lead investigations into system performance, and much more."

We'll look to you for:




  • Providing expert technical support and advice on test procedures, test requirements, and leading investigations to identify root causes of equipment and subsystem failures. ,



  • Analyzing and evaluating system performance levels and making recommendations for preventative and corrective maintenance plans efficiently and effectively. ,



  • Working with the client/contractors to implement Automatic Train Control (ATC) hardware/software regarding Wayside, Central, Cyber Security, and Signaling System changes and upgrades. ,



  • Developing and implementing contingency plans for changes or events that affect planned work and ensuring plans have the least impact on revenue service. ,



  • Ensuring assets and services are maintained with proper inspections, maintenance, and repairs when needed for all tracks, signal, and communication infrastructure. ,



  • Responding to and coordinating during emergency incidents on the system. ,



  • Adhering to all Alstom safety rules, work procedures, and audit activities to ensure that contractors comply with safety rules and have the skills and certifications to participate in scheduled works. ,



  • Ensuring compliance with Company policies, safety regulations, and safe work practices in all working situations. ,



  • Demonstrating a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and promoting a culture of safety within the site. ,



  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation, ensuring confidentiality of sensitive information."

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. ,



  • Experience or understanding of railway signaling systems and Automatic Train Control (ATC) hardware/software. ,



  • Knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance strategies for railway systems. ,



  • Familiarity with safety regulations, industry standards, and quality requirements in the railway sector. ,



  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders. ,



  • Analytical skills to evaluate system performance and identify root causes of failures. ,



  • Proficiency in using technical software and tools related to maintenance management. ,



  • Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in documentation and recordkeeping. ,



  • Adaptability to work under pressure and manage changing priorities in a fast-paced environment. ,



  • Commitment to fostering teamwork and collaboration across cross-functional teams.
