Job Title: Industrial Automation and Robotics Engineer

Job Location: Hornell, NY

Job Type: Full Time

Rate of Pay: $103,230/year to $113,553/year

Duties: Support the Automation & Robotic Leader in new robotic cell integration. Identify and propose process optimizations and improvements to robotic assets. Responsible for putting robotic cells into operation. During specification and preliminary design phases, gather and define maintenance requirements in equipment specifications. Define maintenance strategy for future equipment. Prepare equipment installation and coordinate all stakeholders. During detailed design phase and manufacturing activity, develop specifications of industrial means for serial production. Complete maintenance documentation including WKI, spare part list, and criticality matrix. Manage supplier and contractor for maintenance activity. Monitor equipment performance, and define and animate roadmap for improvements. Define technical specifications for new installations and new machine functionalities. Conduct functional analysis of installation and provide integrator support. Define upgrades on existing equipment including for process improvement and mitigation of machine weaknesses, etc. Modify and qualify new robotic programs based on production need projected from dry runs and offline simulations. Participate in design review for new robotic project installations, as well as in machine acceptance testing and all functionality tests. Adjust machine settings, calibrate cells, and create simulations of new 3D cells. Responsible for development and implementation of robotics automation on-site, including TS, P-FMEA, design review, offline checks, and TPT for robot scope calculation. Validate with supplier on tooling concept, and validate 3D models. Generate robotic work instruction for machine operation and safety. Accompany manufacturing team in production ramp-up. Participate in process qualification for welding, sanding, shotblasting, painting, etc. Work with Jigs-Tools department to verify accessibility and kinematics of Robot operation. Support maintenance team in troubleshooting.

10% domestic & 10% international travel required. May work at various unanticipated locations throughout U.S.

Requirements: Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Automation Engineering or related field and 6 years of experience in the job offered or in an Industrial Automation and Robotics Engineer-related occupation.
