Developing sensors, encoders, CAN communication and other communication protocols for automated guided vehicle (AGV) technology. Analyzing and refining software requirements to ensure optimal performance. Writing and implementing software for new functionalities across various KION AGV series. Debugging and resolving issues identified by development, testing, validation, and QA teams. Developing documentation for AGV functionality. Tracking and updating work tasks on an active development board. Collaborating with global teams in Belgium, Germany, China, etc. Developing high-quality software solutions for internal and external customers, focusing on traffic control management for AGVs. Participating in the full software life cycle, including analysis, build, testing, integration, release, and support activities. Collaborating with global agile development teams in an international environment. Responsible for the design and implementation of onboard software managing the complete behavior of the truck, including driving, and lift movements. Involved from start to finish of the process from the refinement of requirements through design and implementation of the solution to testing, validation, and documentation. Collaborating with mechatronics, safety, production, testing, and customer service colleagues internationally. Supporting the product validation team responsible for testing the functionalities of the developed application and assisting application engineers in commissioning the application at customer facilities. Bring technical expertise and innovation across the KION group and its Operating Units as a member of the Robotic Systems Development (RSD) team within the Central Technology Office (CTO). Create innovative, comprehensive solutions, services, and lifecycle support along with cutting-edge robotic technologies.

Requires a bachelor's degree in computer engineering, computer science, electrical engineering or a closely related field and 18 months of experience as Software Engineer, Firmware Engineer, Developer or closely related occupation in a logistics, warehouse automation or material handling industry. Also requires 18 months of experience with programming languages C and Python and with tools including Embedded Systems (CAN), Oscilloscope, Multimeter, Git Version Control, Data Structures, Object Oriented Programming, Linux, and Vector CANalyzer.

The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $85,426 - $115,000 at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.
