Description Senior Director - Diagnostic Imaging The Role The Senior Director is responsible for leading all acute and outpatient Diagnostic Imaging for the Providence North Puget Sound Service Area; which includes Providence Regional Medical Center Everett, Swedish Edmonds and the Swedish Mill Creek emergency department. Works in collaboration with Senior Leaders, Medical Directors, Managers and caregivers to direct day-to-day imaging operations. Provides leadership direction in strategic planning, business development, project management and operations while implementing and promoting a culture of excellence in the respective practice, inter-professional teamwork, and patient outcomes. Accountable for high clinical quality outcomes, promotion of a highly engaged and sustainable workforce, regulatory requirements, financial planning and performance to include creating and managing operational budgets and capital planning and procurement. This role is participating in local regional committees and meetings, as well as larger regional and system meetings. Essential Functions

- Develop and monitor productivity metrics to maximize efficiencies across modalities.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies and develop new business strategies to improve performance.
- Oversee departmental quality programs in collaboration with medical directors and safety officers.
- Foster a collaborative environment that supports education, research, and clinical leadership.
- Establishes and monitors effective systems of communication:
- Holds regular department staff meetings; maintains open communication with department caregivers.
- Demonstrates professional demeanor and ability to communicate effectively to individuals and groups.

- Demonstrates strong communication with medical staff regarding Swedish's services to the physicians.
- Solicit information from managers, supervisors and caregivers in problem-solving process improvement.
- Resolves inter and/or intra department complaints promptly and effectively.
- Utilizes effective leadership and Human Resource skills:
- Proactively and consulting with Human Resource Business Partner, manages department staff, monitors absentee rates and takes corrective action.
- Actively monitors turnover and seeks retention strategies.
- Supervises all staff fairly and equitably.
- Develop staff through coaching, cross training, internal/external education opportunities to improve or enhance job skills.
- Actively and willingly participates in assigned committees, task forces and other work groups.
- Provides staff support to a variety of committees:
- Creates and distributes agendas, attends meetings to take minutes, prepares and distributes accurate minutes that are timely, maintains all meeting records.
- Financial performance:
- Accurately prepares annual budgets in accordance with Providence goals and objectives.
- Consistently department budgets/cost centers operate within approved budget.
- Consistently demonstrates focus on cost management and cost reduction.
- Other duties as assigned:
- Time management: Consistently meets work deadlines and schedules and provides project work in a timely manner.
- Analytical ability: Demonstrates skills in technical analysis and evaluation, problem-solving, presenting options for resolution and initiating appropriate action steps.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Cardiovascular Technology or Radiologic Science or healthcare related degree.
- Master's Degree in Nursing, Cardiovascular Technology or Radiologic Science or healthcare related degree (Preferred).
- 5 years of experience leading a significant portion of Diagnostic Imaging Services within an ambulatory and/or hospital setting.
- Comprehensive understanding of professional radiology practice and diagnostic imaging services operations.
- Knowledge of local, State, and Federal Laws and negotiations related to disciplines, JCAHO Standards and department specific regulations.
- Knowledge of leadership and financial/Budgeting principles.
- Skilled in organizing and prioritizing work.
- Strong communicator with ability to build strong relationships with staff, physicians, and patients.
- Able to identify and lead quality projects and proactively identify and resolve issues.
