Overview:

  • The vStroke position works with a multidisciplinary team to support evidence-based practice with the use of established stroke protocols via the telemedicine platform.
  • Ensures care for the stroke patient throughout the continuum, by providing quality, best practices support and data collection for stroke patients across multiple hospitals.
  • Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients.
  • Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Graduate of an Accredited Nursing Program. AssociatesDegree in Nursing.
  • Experience: 2 years recent experience in Direct patient care experience of Neurology patients in an acute care setting, Adult Med/Surg, or Emergency Department experience required.
  • Preferred Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical-surgical (floor) nursing, preferably with some neuro experience. Ideal candidate would have at least 5 years of experience. Comfort with technology is a plus
  • Licensure: Missouri State Licensure, current RN Temporary Permit/RN. Multi-state licensure required within 6 months of hire.
  • Certifications: BLS, NIHSS certification upon one month of hire, and Stroke Certified
  • Registered Nurse (SCRN) within 3 year of hire required.
  • Other: Excellent communication skills and able to collaborate effectively within a team environment. Must have the ability to independently practice and prioritize demands in an ever-changing, dynamic environment. Must demonstrate understanding of pathophysiology and rationale of special therapies of the stroke patient.
