Position Purpose
We are looking for enthusiastic, dependable, and customer-service-driven individuals to join our catering team as per diem waitstaff. A positive attitude and team-oriented mindset are essential, as you'll be representing our department at a wide variety of events including receptions, banquets, academic programs, and special functions. Shifts are scheduled on an as-needed basis depending on event needs. Available shifts are given with advance notice, usually 2-3 weeks prior to event date.
Required Qualifications

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 lbs
  • A friendly, can-do attitude and willingness to pitch in wherever needed
  • Punctual, dependable, and able to work independently or as part of a team
  • Flexibility with scheduling (weekday evenings and occasional weekends)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior food service or catering experience

Key Accountabilities

  • Set up and break down event spaces, including catering equipment such as chafers, place settings and linens.
  • Serve food and beverages efficiently and professionally, mostly banquet and buffet style, occasionally seated plated style.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of service areas.
  • Follow all health and safety regulations.
  • Engage guests with courtesy and a positive, helpful attitude.
  • Assist with post-event cleanup as needed.
  • Follow directions from catering manager.
