Performs a variety of duties in support of the UMass Memorial Concierge Services. Provides callers with a central point of referral to the physicians and services of the UMass Memorial Healthcare System to ensure a high level of customer service and satisfaction. Schedules patients' appointments on behalf of referring providers. Supports growth and engagement of our Manage Care Network by supporting efforts of our Physician Concierge Managers. Follows up on difficult to resolve issues.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Provides enhanced customers service support to physician offices in assigned territories in partnership with Physician Relations Managers.
  • Ensures patient appointments are scheduled with the appropriate provider, in the right location and within an appropriate time frame.
  • Escalates access and service issues to leadership to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Enhances relationships with community-based providers and their office staff to build volume and increase managed care network participation by making outbound calls.
  • Provides telephone coverage for the 1-800 (Physician Concierge) line in a professional, sensitive and courteous manner to ensure the image and reputation of UMMHC is maintained and the callers' needs are

Position Qualifications:

License/Certification/Education:

Required:

  • Equivalent to a High School Diploma.

Experience/Skills:

Required:

  • Two to three years' experience in a physician's office or healthcare
  • Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, medical specialties and general patterns of patient
  • Requires a good working knowledge of customer relations/customer service
  • Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication
  • Proficient in word processing and computer software application including spreadsheets and databases.

Preferred:

  • Prior Epic experience.
  • Prior customer service experience in a concierge health care environment
