Job Description:

Provide advanced analytical insights, sound hypotheses, and informed recommendations to the business solution team. Lead key initiatives including investigating data sources, creating models, developing data visualizations, and building out processes that lead to better system integrations and automation of output. Serve as team lead for data and business analytics-related efforts. Identify and recommend solutions to a variety of routine and non-routine problems utilizing relational databases and unstructured data, along with advanced knowledge of statistics. Assist with the development and tracking of KPIs and provide recommendations based on trend data. Manage and clean data to prepare for analysis, review, or reporting. Serve as a key liaison to the Education Division supporting related data management tasks and larger data projects. Support the creation and curation of databases and dashboards, monitoring and reporting constituent engagement and other KPIs. Present key findings, lead data gathering exercises, and conduct training. Conduct ad hoc analyses such as descriptive statistics, significance testing, and correlation.

Requirements:



  1. Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related field




  1. 5 years of progressive data analyst experience.




  1. Other education and/or experience must include:



  • Technology systems and data visualization tools including Tableau, SQL Server Reporting Services, and advanced Excel.
  • Programming languages including SQL and Python.
  • Experience managing, analyzing, and optimizing data and performance metrics within an organization including data collection and integration; data cleaning and preparation; data governance; database management; KPI development and tracking; performance analysis; reporting and visualization; and performance optimization.
  • Data analysis including statistical analysis; data visualization; data cleaning and preprocessing; data mining; machine learning; and creating and automating reports.
  • Database creation including design; data modeling; performance tuning, backup, and recovery; data security, and version control including Git or Gitlab.
  • Database management systems including Microsoft SQL Server, AWS, Google BigQuery, and Databricks.
  • Database administration.
  • Translating data requirements for consumption by a global audience.




  1. Must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.



Employer: The American Chemical Society

Annual Salary: $147,098 - $150,000
