This role is a hybrid position

Some roles require an office while others may be done remotely. This position is considered hybrid, allowing for a combination of remote work and in-office collaboration. Qualified applicants must live within commuting distance of our Boston office.

The Core FP&A team is the central hub for financial planning and reporting at Sonos. As financial storytellers and strategic partners, we collaborate across the organization to deliver actionable insights to senior leadership. We design and continuously improve planning, forecasting, and reporting processes. This role is a key contributor to our financial planning strategy and will specialize in gross margin analysis.

What You'll Do

The Core FP&A team is looking for a high performer to be our lead for all things gross margin. We are looking for someone to join our team who is highly motivated, curious and excited about reporting, data and process improvements. The ideal candidate will be passionate about working for a company that lives its brand and delivers on its promise to create the ultimate home music experience Additionally, this person will:

  • Serve as the subject matter expert for gross margin analysis, collaborating cross-functionally with Revenue, Supply Chain Finance, and Accounting teams to understand key drivers.

  • Own and prepare monthly and quarterly gross margin bridges, including YoY, QoQ, and actuals vs. forecast.

  • Lead the development of gross margin performance narratives for internal executive reviews and external earnings support.

  • Identify opportunities to enhance gross margin analysis, with a focus on process improvements and automation.

  • Review and support gross margin-related content in SEC filings and external documentation.

  • Contribute to revenue forecasting, unit assumptions, pricing analysis, and bi-weekly gross margin flash estimates.

  • Support additional FP&A team projects and ad hoc financial analysis as needed.

What You'll Need

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in FP&A, consulting, investment banking, or a related discipline.

  • High attention to detail and a track record of delivering accurate work in fast-paced environments.

  • Strong analytical mindset and curiosity for continuous improvement.

  • Effective communication and collaboration skills across various stakeholder levels.

  • Proficiency in Excel and financial modeling.

  • Ability to simplify complex data into visual storytelling for stakeholders.

  • Integrity, humility, and a growth mindset.

  • Willingness to work in a hybrid model out of our Boston office.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with FP&A or accounting in a consumer-facing business (e.g., consumer electronics, retail, or DTC).

  • Understanding of gross margin variance drivers (e.g., volume, mix, rate).

  • Experience with financial tools such as Anaplan, SAP S/4HANA, Analytics for Office (AO), Tableau, SQL, or AI productivity tools.

The base pay range for this role based off geographic location is:

$86,000 and $107,000

The specific pay offered will depend on the candidate's geographic location, as well as qualifications and experience. We apply geographic pay differentials based on the cost of labor in the market. Employees in high-cost locations may be compensated at the upper end of the range, while those in medium or low cost markets may be compensated at the lower end of the range. Your recruiter can provide more details about the specific salary range for your location during the hiring process.
