V2X is growing! V2X is looking for a Project Chief Engineer (MSI) to join our team!

V2X is seeking a Chief Engineer to join our Engineering team in Indianapolis, IN that will be the direct program and technical liaison with the DoD customer(s) and external stakeholders as part of the Mission System Integration (MSI) portfolio. The Chief Engineer will drive engagement with the DoD to provide effective solutions to meet their needs along with lead the development and integration of those advanced software/firmware/hardware systems. The Chief Engineer will represent their product line to senior officials in both the US and foreign governments along with internally to senior leadership.

Our Indianapolis facility also supports a variety of other product lines serving multiple Department of Defense (DoD) customers providing the opportunity to work on a diverse set of programs and roles supporting the continued advancement of your career.

Required Skills:



  • Ability to lead a program through all phases of system product development including: program pursuit and capture, requirements capture and analysis, system architecture design, requirements allocation and traceability, system / subsystem integration, system verification, system validation, and life-cycle product support.
  • Experience with manufacturing readiness and transitioning products from development to production.
  • Ability to take ownership of the engineering scope within the program and drive the necessary tasks to ultimately ensure the cross-function team meets the program requirements.
  • Experience providing leadership, technical direction, and guidance to multi-discipline teams.
  • Experience managing suppliers and overseeing the development of subsystems and components.
  • Experience working the front end of the business, creating/reviewing RFPs, SOWs, BOEs, technical volumes, proposals, cost, and schedule estimates.
  • Experience working with government customers including the US Army, US Navy, USMC and/or USAF.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to effectively communicate to internal and external stakeholders including leading both internal and customer design reviews.
  • In-depth understanding of the System Engineering Lifecycle and processes.
  • Experience mentoring engineers of all grade levels.
  • Current Active DoD Secret or higher Clearance


Desired Skills:



  • Ability and willingness for extended travel to support onsite integration/test events at different domestic and international locations.
  • Experience in installation, integration, testing, and troubleshooting systems for air, sea, and/or ground platforms
  • Project management experience including cost, schedule, and supplier management.
  • Knowledge and experience working with different electrical interface signals such as: Analog, Synchro, RS-422, MIL-STD-1553, ARINC-429, and/or Ethernet.
  • Experience troubleshooting complex avionics and/or weapon systems including external interfaces and test equipment in real time when issues arise.
  • Experience supporting Government integration and platform test events.
  • Experience with Agile software development including previous roles as a Product Owner and/or Scrum Master.


Education Requirements:



  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related STEM discipline plus:
  • At least fifteen (15) years of related engineering experience in systems, software, or hardware engineering
  • Desired: Master's Degree in Engineering or related STEM discipline.
