HX5 is currently seeking a System Administrator SME to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract at Schriever Space Force Base in Colorado Springs, CO.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide all required architecture design and implementation for all Window systems, virtual and logical.
  • Administer the operations of computer systems related to operating systems, servers, and end-user workstations.
  • Administer WSUS and SCCM servers for updating and patching of the domain.
  • Perform hardening and remediation of operating systems and STIG compliance to reduce cybersecurity risks.
  • Deployment and configuration of vCenter, Power Shell, and Ansible.
  • Administer Container Platforms such as OpenShift, as-well-as maintain repositories/Registries.
  • Experience managing a Linux workstation based environment.
  • Maintain and manage Secure Host Baselines for both Windows and LINUX.
  • Conduct daily system monitoring, system backup and restoral, and application upgrades to ensure optimal and
    continuous system operations.
  • Develop and maintain system administration procedures and baseline configuration documentation.
  • Be responsible for ensuring system software installs, maintenance, break/fix activities, and cyber security mitigations are
    performed in accordance with established policies, procedures and service level agreements.
  • Focus on creating, upgrading, managing and sustaining physical and virtual workstations and servers.

The successful candidate will:

  • Provide oversight, design, and troubleshooting to all Windows systems.
  • Be able to quickly learn challenging concepts, decompose difficult service problems and provide resolution.
  • Be able to create and follow standard processes and clearly document results.
  • Effectively function as self-starter and identify risks, issues, and opportunities to the System Administrator.
  • Have excellent presentation, oral and written skills to facilitate effective and efficient interchanges with senior customer
    management and customers.
  • Have a "can-do" attitude, be able to work in a very high pace and dynamic environment and embrace change.

Education and Experience:

  • Must have 5, or more, years of directly related experience to Windows systems administration and Active Directory
  • Must have experience with WSUS
  • Must have experience with SCCM
  • Must have work experience with Powershell Scripting
  • Must have experience with Virtualization of Windows services
  • Must have experience managing Windows Active Directory and Group Policy Objects
  • Must have a current DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification or higher (CCNA-Security CySA+ (formerly CSA+), GICSP,
    GSEC, Security+, CND, or SSCP)
  • Must have a current DoD Secret security clearance

Desired Requirement:

  • Have experience with IdM
  • Have experience with managing CA certificate server
  • Have experience with Windows server 2019/22 and Windows 10/11
  • Have experience managing PXE servers
  • Have experience with 2FA to include RSA and PKI
  • Have experience with DISA STIGs and remediation of vulnerabilities.
  • Have experience with administration in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 and/or 8 environments
  • Have experience using Remedy
  • Have a working knowledge of Configuration Management processes

Salary Information: This position is expected to pay $115,000 - $170,000 annually; depending on experience, education, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week and offers a flexible work schedule Monday through Fridayduring core business hours.

Other Position Requirements:

  • Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position.
  • Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain a Secret clearance by date of hire.
  • Must be able to travel, including air travel 10% of the time.
  • Must have a valid Drivers License.
