SYSTEM ENGINEER - CFT L3 - 3IS

JOB SUMMARY: MCSG seeks a Systems Engineer to support the 392d Combat Training Squadron's (392 CTS) efforts to design, plan, and execute technical solutions required to implement third-party modeling and simulation (M&S) capabilities into current and future space M&S capabilities that support USSF exercises. The Systems Engineer position requires a mix of project management, technical, acquisition, and requirements development skills to ensure the smooth integration of space M&S capabilities into 392CTS operations. Location: This position is located at 5575 Tech Center Drive, Colorado Springs, CO, and requires on-site support. In addition, this position will be required to participate in meetings at Schriever Space Force Base, CO at least once per week.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

• Utilize Models Based Systems Engineering principles to create a SysML or DoDAF model to capture requirements, trace requirements to structural and behavioral architectures, create a test plan to validate requirements for M&S solutions.
• Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for integrating third-party capabilities across all components of software systems through design, integration, implementation, and support, for systems in both physical and virtualized environments.
• Develop schedules, plans, and briefings; coordinate and monitor activities; and report on those activities through trip reports, briefings, meeting minutes, point papers, quad charts, etc.
• Define project milestones and deliverables, oversee timelines, and manage allocated resources to ensure project success.
• Identify, manage, and mitigate potential risks associated with the integration process to ensure reliability, security, and performance.
• Collaborate closely with internal teams and external partners, including government stakeholders, to gather, document, and manage technical and functional requirements to integrate third-party M&S capabilities into the 392 CTS Battlelab M&S architecture.
• Coordinate comprehensive testing and validation of integrated systems to ensure compliance with government regulations, security protocols, and industry best practices.
• Performs complex bug verification, release testing and beta support across multiple products. Research problems discovered by QA or product support and develop solutions, collaborating with the QA/support team to develop and install upgrades to existing systems
• Maintain detailed records of integration processes, updates, challenges, and resolutions for internal tracking and required reporting.
• Attend technical interchange meetings (TIM), in-progress reviews, and programmatic-level meetings related to 392 CTS-sponsored USSF exercises and mission-focused events.
• Attend weekly organizational meetings, as necessary, to maintain awareness of the 392 CTS leadership priorities, tasks, and issues.
• Carry out tasks as directed by contract leadership required to ensure 392 CTS mission success.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Familiarity with Windows systems, virtualization platforms, and APIs
• Experience creating MBSE models utilizing the SysML or DoDAF frameworks.
• Experience with MBSE modeling software such as NoMagic's MagicDraw or Cameo.
• Experience developing integration architecture and strategies within DoD or National space organizations.
• Experience within the DoD applying project management or system engineering processes to create and manage project plans, resulting in timely delivery of project milestones across interrelated efforts.
• Experience using risk management concepts and strategies to ensure project success.
• This position requires limited travel (5-6 weeks/year).

• Experience in implementing, testing, deploying, and maintaining integrations between software platforms, programs, and applications. Hands-on experience building and deploying containerized applications (e.g., Docker)
• Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Systems EngineeringProfessional (CSEP), certification, or a Certificate of Project Management from an accredited institution.
• Experience using M&S tools and capabilities (e.g., STK, Peregrine, RAPTOR, Standard Space Trainer (SST)).
• Experience with DoD requirements, acquisition, or contracting processes.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is preferred. Experience in lieu of education may be accepted.

SECURITY CLEARANCE: Top Secret/SCI Clearance.
