The Highlights:
The Director of Career Services provides strategic leadership to advance career services and experiential engagement efforts for the Driehaus College of Business/Kellstadt Graduate School of Business. Reporting to the Associate Dean of Student Success, this role designs and executes a comprehensive career services strategy that enhances student career experiences and outcomes, cultivates internal and external relationships, and integrates career readiness across the DePaul Business community. The ideal candidate is student-centered and relationship-driven, serving as both a spokesperson and internal advisor on career and professional development matters.
What You'll Do:

Strategic Leadership & Vision



  • Serve as the chief career services officer, setting the vision and strategy for a high-impact, student-centered career services operation in support of the College and University's strategic plan.
  • Advance a career ecosystem that fosters strong industry engagement, enhances students' career readiness, and builds the brand of the Driehaus College of Business/Kellstadt Graduate School of Business with external partners throughout the business community.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team, managing the CMC's organizational planning and staffing efforts while fostering a culture of innovation, inclusion, and excellence.
  • Represent the DePaul Business community at key professional development. associations, collaborating with peer institutions for benchmarking and best practices.


Industry Outreach & Engagement



  • Cultivate and expand relationships with employers, alumni, and industry leaders to create exceptional career opportunities for our students.
  • Lead strategy to increase industry engagement throughout the DePaul Business community, building and leveraging relationships with employer, alumni, and corporate partners as well as professional associations.


Career Development & Experiential Learning



  • Design and implement innovative career programs and initiatives that support student career exploration, professional development, and job search success.
  • Oversee Career Coaching efforts, ensuring high-quality service tailored to students across our degree programs.
  • Enhance experiential learning opportunities, developing new channels for industry engagement across the student experience while overseeing career education efforts in support of student engagement with industry.


Collaboration with Faculty & Academic Leadership



  • Partner with the Office of the Dean, Department Chairs, and Program Directors to integrate elements of career and professional development into both the curricular and co-curricular experience.
  • Support faculty in bridging classroom learning with career readiness and industry expectations
  • Serve as a consultant on career and professional development trends, ensuring alignment with academic programming and market needs.


Data, Assessment & Reporting



  • Oversee career outcomes data collection and reporting, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of student outcomes data.
  • Utilize predictive analytics to identify hiring trends, evolving industry needs, and areas for program improvement.


Operational & Budgetary Leadership



  • Manage the CMC's budget, including operational planning, resource allocation, and compensation benchmarking.
  • Drive continuous improvement in career services operations, leveraging technology, best practices, and student feedback.
  • Recruit, hire, supervisor, mentor, develop, and evaluate full time staff across multiple verticals: Career Coaching & Education, Employer & Alumni Engagement, Experiential Programs & Partnerships, and Operations & Communication.
  • Also responsible for selection and placement of annual CMC Graduate Assistants.
  • Manages the CMC's annual budget, monitoring the expenses and assets of the Center while identifying future needs and costs.
  • Manage and negotiate contracts with external vendors on behalf of both the Driehaus College of Business/Kellstadt Graduate School of Business, managing budget allocation for both undergraduate and graduate tech tools and resources.


What You'll Need:


  • Master's degree in business, higher education administration, counseling, or a related field.
  • Preferred minimum of 5+ years of significant leadership experience in career services, employer relations, university relations, student affairs, and/or a related field, preferably with experience in/exposure to a business school setting.
  • Strong track record of building external relationships/partnerships and developing career programs and initiatives that lead to measurable student outcomes.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop a high-performing team in a dynamic, student-centered environment.
  • Expertise in career development best practices, industry hiring trends, and experiential learning models.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with faculty, employers, alumni, and senior administrators.
  • Proven ability to engage with and manage priorities for internal and external stakeholders to achieve shared goals.
  • Data-driven approach with experience in assessment, reporting, and predictive analytics.
  • Ability to be entrepreneurial, make creative and independent judgments and decisions and navigate evolving priorities.
  • Strong sense of collegiality and personal and professional integrity.
  • Exceptional public speaking, pitching, and presentation skills.
  • Deep commitment to customer service and the user experience.
  • Occasional travel to corporate, employer, and industry sites and/or events required.
  • Work occasional hours outside of normal business hours, inclusive of evenings and/or weekends.
  • This is a hybrid position, expected to work a minimum of three days per week on our Loop campus during peak times.


The anticipated hiring range for this position is: $85,519 to $114,973.

The salary range provided in this posting reflects what we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Actual compensation offered or earned is dependent on experience, education and other factors including departmental budget.
