About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Database Administrator (DBA) to lead and execute all activities associated with the administration, security, and performance optimization of complex, large-scale databases in a client/server environment. This position will play a critical role in database planning, design, development, and maintenance, while ensuring compliance with enterprise data governance, protection, and performance standards.

Additional Responsibilities Include, but are not Limited To:



  • Oversee all aspects of database administration, including design, creation, maintenance, performance tuning, and user access.
  • Project long-range database infrastructure and capacity requirements in collaboration with IT management.
  • Design and implement complex databases with considerations for access methods, security, validation checks, and optimization.
  • Conduct database quality assurance and auditing to ensure proper data usage, accuracy, and integrity.
  • Advise and support end users on database access procedures, standards, and best practices.
  • Perform database programming and support integration with front-end and back-end applications.
  • Maintain database dictionaries, monitor data storage standards and procedures, and manage data file organization.
  • Support system integration efforts by aligning database design with application and infrastructure requirements.
  • Utilize a broad range of database and development technologies to ensure data availability and system reliability.
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.


Experience Requirements:



  • A minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in database query languages such as Oracle, PL SQL, SQL Server, and MS Access.
  • At least three (3) years of hands-on experience with Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS), including experience with multiple operating systems and programming languages.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting at least two projects in large-scale enterprise environments, responsible for administration, operation, maintenance, and security of complex databases.


Other Required Skills & Abilities:



  • Strong understanding of client/server database environments, data modeling, data protection, and performance optimization.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with customer and fulfill all duties and responsibilities as listed in the contract.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite including, but not limited to: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.

Top Secret Clearance

Other: Investigation Requirements: Must possess a favorable Tier 5 (T5)/SSBI at time of proposal.

US Citizenship Requirements:

This position supports a U.S. Government Contract whose terms require Sawdey Solution Services to staff it only with U.S. Citizens.
