The Tower Technician IV (TT IV, aka "Top Hand" or "Crew Lead") will support the assembly, erection, and maintenance of towers and their associated systems. These structures are up to two thousand feet tall. The TT IV will work on a variety of systems to include communications equipment (Land Mobile Radio, network, microwave, PTP) installed on towers and other elevated structures (rooftops, water tanks, smokestacks, grain silos, etc.). The TT IV will perform troubleshooting, testing, equipment replacement, and configuration in support of other equipment such as cameras, microwave systems, transmission lines, shelters, solar systems, obstruction lighting systems, and grounding systems. The ideal candidate will be capable of working with minimal oversight and willing to follow directions and adhere to and closely follow corporate, project, safety, construction, and tower industry standards. The ideal candidate will be well-rounded and able to learn and showcase a variety of skill sets. The work spans field services in all weather conditions, day or night, with occasional assignments to the warehouse and other duties.
Technician
- Take part in project meetings to review the work plan to understand responsibilities, safety, and scope.
- Install, troubleshoot, service and maintain towers and tower accessories.
- Support ground/civil work during tower site construction and site repairs/upgrades.
- Perform work on tower top, including rigging, hoisting, landing, fastening, load hopping, etc.
- Provide direction to other TTs on best methods and procedures to effectively complete the project
- Understand and strictly adhere to all safety and quality guidelines without deviation.
- Understanding of basic mechanical terms and tools.
- Knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials, and supplies.
- The ability to use hand tools, power tools, winches and industry test equipment.
- Ability to learn and retain physical and mechanical installation specifications.
- Ability to connect and disconnect assorted sizes and types of ethernet, coaxial, fiber, power, hardline and microwave connectors.
- Ability to read and understand drawings, piping diagrams, job specifications, mounting specifications, testing procedures, etc.
- Ability to track work procedures, document work performed, and communicate work status to Foreman, Project Manager, Project Coordinator, or other Manager.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Work schedule will require open availability, including weekends, holidays, and overnights determined by the needs of the business; must be flexible.
- Must be available to travel and work outside of the home market for extended periods of time, based on business needs. Per Diem allotments shall be paid on certain projects.
- Must be able to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment, post-offer background check and drug test.
- Must be capable of climbing to heights up to 2000' and willing to climb and effectively perform work at elevated heights for extended periods of time.
- Must be capable of all functions associated with climbing. To include bending, twisting, and contorting at elevation while complying with 100% tie-off practices.
- Support warehouse activities to include loading and unloading of work vehicles and trailers, organizing tools and materials.
- When working on site, will be required to wear common protective or safety equipment, such as full-body harnesses and other PPE.

Driving
- Operate a company vehicle in accordance with local laws/regulations.
- Operate the vehicle in safe and courteous manner.
- Ability to tow a trailer in a competent and safe manner.
- Keep company vehicles clean and orderly.
- Report maintenance requirements and/or damage in a timely manner.
- Maintain a valid Driver's License (DL).
- Maintain additional required operator licenses as directed (Forklift, Aerial Lift, CDL).
- Ability to obtain a DOT card.

Reporting
- Complete and submit timecard updates daily and sign timecards weekly to support reporting and payroll activities.
- Perform job related reporting of work tickets, troubleshooting processes, work completion, parts utilized, closeout packages, and reporting in accordance with the project, requisite contract, ITL, S&K, and SKSG corporate policies.
- Complete and maintain active status on required certifications and training.

- Promote, executes, and adheres to ITL's safety program.
- Attend and participates in daily and weekly on-site field safety briefings.
- Work in a safe, responsible manner without intentional or unintentional risks for injuring oneself or endangering the wellbeing of others.
- Cooperate with safety personnel, supervisors, managers, and investigators to ensure proper procedures are carried out according to ITL's and customer's safety policies.
- Identify and report safety violations to safety personnel.

- All TT III requirements AND
- * Four (4) years of previous tower climbing experience in and demonstrated ability to function as and perform all tasks of a TT III.
- Advanced experience with tools and industry specific equipment and processes.
- Understanding of basic line sweeps processes.
- Experience supporting the common programs/job functions of the assigned market (plumb and tension services, inspections, grounding system repairs, tower modifications, tower installation, microwave services.
- Ability to identify common tools and equipment needed to complete a project.
- Demonstrated technical knowledge of department processes and procedures.
- Experience using complex rigging systems and rope access systems.
- Demonstrated experience in all aspects of a well-rounded Tower Technician. To include "greenfield" builds to tower removals and a knowledge of a wide variety of antenna systems and other tower components and equipment.
- Full ability to assess and execute a provided Scope of Work (SOW) considering best methods and procedures.
- Ability to analyze situations accurately and adopt and implement an appropriate course of action.
- Ability to mentor other TTs by example to guide them in progression of their careers, and advancement in the company.
- Responsible for all "top side" work to include final product and all closeout photos.
- Directs the "top side" work to ensure the SOW is completed in a timely and complete manner.
