AsSr. PMO Specialist I, you'll drive IT governance, portfolio management, and strategic planning efforts within a Federal IT department. This role provides expert-level guidance on IT governance, policies, oversight recommendations, and alignment with federal standards and industry best practices. The ideal candidate will collaborate with senior government officials to ensure effective governance and strategic decision-making in IT investments.

What you'll do:



  • Assist in the formulation, development, and implementation of IT governance frameworks and policies.
  • Facilitate meetings on IT portfolio compliance with Federal and Agency IT policies, requirements, guidelines, and industry standards.
  • Support the establishment of IT governance board and working groups, providing strategic direction, and ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Provide expert advice to government officials on monitoring and managing IT portfolios, programs, and projects, ensuring timely delivery within scope and budget, and mitigating risks.
  • Implement best practices in IT program and project management methodologies.
  • Advise on strategic IT investment decisions and resource requirements.
  • Assist in managing the IT project portfolio to ensure alignment with organizational priorities.
  • Assist in conducting regular IT portfolio reviews and assessments, providing actionable recommendations.
  • Develop and propose strategic IT plans that align with the organization's goals.
  • Conducts various analyses to inform government leadership in making strategic IT decisions, leveraging data-driven insights to guide policy and strategy.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to identify, prioritize, and document IT initiatives and their requirements.


What you'll need to succeed:



  • A minimum of 5 years full-time experience in roles with primary duties related to Federal IT governance and Portfolio Management.
  • Extensive knowledge of and hands-on experience in the implementation and application of federal laws and regulations governing Federal IT Portfolio Management processes and practices.
  • Strong experience in collaborating with various stakeholders, including senior government officials, project managers, and technical teams, to drive alignment and ensure successful project execution.
  • An ability to be customer and relationship-focused, process-driven, results-oriented, and self-motivated.
  • An active Secret clearance.


SALARY RANGE: $103,000 - $164,000

The salary range for this position is determined based on qualifications, skills, and relevant experience. The final salary offered will be determined based on several factors including:



  • The candidate's professional background and relevant work experience
  • The specific responsibilities of the role and organizational needs
  • Internal equity and alignment with current team compensation
  • This role is also eligible for additional compensation, subject to the terms and policies of MetroStar, which may include:


    • Performance-based bonuses
    • Company-paid training and/or certifications
    • Referral bonuses
