The Surgery/Trauma Outreach Coordinator is the leader of referral relationships designed to improve growth and profitability of the Denver Health department of surgery. Under minimal supervision, is responsible for the design, coordination and implementation of marketing and business-based strategies for increased surgical and trauma program growth. The Surgery/Trauma Outreach Coordinator will act as a liaison for Denver Health surgery and Trauma working to build relationships and continue to establish Denver Health as a resource. This position will also be responsible for attending events throughout the area to engage the community and bring awareness to the expansive services available within Denver Health's Department of Surgery.
Essential Functions:
- Establishes a business plan outlining key constituencies and contacts. Keeps a database of relationships formed and planned and meets identified goals. (15%)
- Meet in person or virtually 2-3 times monthly with outlying hospitals and contacts and maintain relationships as needed to increase surgical and trauma volumes. Provide needed resources to lower-level trauma centers. (20%)
- Attends community events throughout Colorado and the surrounding region, engaging the general public and brining awareness about the resources and capabilities that the Department of Surgery has to offer. (15%)
- Coordinates with other institutions and community partners additional education and resources on behalf of Denver Health's Departments of Surgery and Trauma. (10%)
- Management of any educational events or conference including agenda planning, budget management, sponsorship and vendor development, marketing and communications. (10%)
- Maintains Trauma Lecture Series. obtaining and coordinating speakers, marketing and public relations with respect to the audience. (15%)
- Assists with coordination or directs ATLS/ATCN courses. (5%)
- Responsible for increasing Denver Health Trauma awareness through all avenues, from the hospital itself through the state and outlying regions to provide optimal care of the trauma patient (10%)
Education:
- Associate's Degree required
Work Experience:
- 1-3 years experience in hospital and/or major healthcare organization required and
- Less than 1 year sales experience preferred
Licenses: Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) and negotiating skills. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Able to multitask. high level of energy and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Self-motivated and able to work independently and as a member of a team. Ability to plan and prioritize workload and meet deadlines. Ability to establish strong working relationships with all division teams in management.

Salary $63,500.00 - $98,500.00 / yr
