Job Title: Vice President, Business Development

Reports to: President and CEO - OPW

Business Unit: OPW

Location: Hamilton, OH or TBD

Direct Reports: Individual Contributor

Key Responsibilities:

The Vice President, Business Development will work closely with the OPW President, the OPW Leadership team and the Business Unit leadership teams in the area of Business Development focusing on strategy and M&A pipeline including identification, qualification and cultivation of target companies across the portfolio.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to

  • Working with the OPW Leadership Team, to develop and personally engage in an acquisition development plan that is aligned with the overall business strategy and builds on the current OPW business. This includes relationship building and outreach with target companies, participation in due diligence, and providing insight and perspective on strategic fit, growth potential, and synergies.
  • Provides support and expertise in leading M&A activity across the OPW portfolio.
  • Identify potential acquisition strategies in adjacent technologies/product lines and "bolt ons" to support a broader system or total solution.
  • Support post-acquisition integration activities, including advising on the cultural and operational changes necessary to ensure successful post-acquisition integration.
  • Provide expertise and insight into strategy development and deployment including implementation and tracking of strategic growth initiatives and operational plans.
  • Assist in creating and driving inorganic commercial strategies within OPW.
  • Perform detailed financial analysis as well as develop comprehensive pro forma financial models and valuation in support of potential transactions
  • Coordinate and communicate with Dover's corporate M&A team on acquisition strategies, targets, status, insights, plans and valuations.
  • Maintain the Navatar M&A database of targets, contacts, company information, contacts made and follow up items.
  • As opportunities arise, lead special project work that will be defined on an as needed, case by case basis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business or technical discipline, such as engineering. An MBA is preferred. A background in mechanical or electrical engineering would be helpful.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in progressive management roles, including time in leadership positions of a cross functional team.
  • Direct P&L management experience. Substantial commercial/sales and marketing experience is considered an advantage, while operational knowledge is a definite asset.
  • Must have significant M&A experience across a diverse range of industries.
  • Global experience a plus
  • Low ego, team player
