Job Overview

The Director, Demand Planning & Forecasting is responsible for leading the strategic planning, development, and execution of demand forecasting and inventory management strategies to optimize sales, profitability, and operational efficiency. This role collaborates cross-functionally with merchandising, supply chain, finance, and store operations to ensure alignment between demand forecasts and business objectives. The ideal candidate will leverage data analytics, market trends, and predictive modeling to enhance accuracy in demand planning, driving an improved customer experience and overall business performance.

What You Will Do



  • Develop and implement demand forecasting strategies that align with corporate growth objectives and market trends.
  • Lead and mentor a high-performing demand planning team, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Utilize advanced analytics, AI, and machine learning to improve demand forecasting accuracy and responsiveness.
  • Partner with merchandising, supply chain, and finance teams to optimize inventory levels, reduce waste, and minimize stockouts.
  • Analyze historical sales data, market trends, and promotional activities to develop accurate demand forecasts.
  • Drive the development and enhancement of demand planning systems, tools, and processes.
  • Provide executive leadership with data-driven insights to support strategic decision-making.
  • Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) to track forecasting accuracy and efficiency, implementing continuous improvement initiatives as needed.
  • Analyze historical impacts of promotions and inventory levels on demand and include findings in future demand modeling.
  • Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships, and ensures authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities.
  • In addition to the essential duties mentioned above, other duties may be assigned.


Who You Are



  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, Statistics, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • 8+ years of experience in demand planning, forecasting, or supply chain management, preferably in a retail or consumer goods environment.
  • Proven leadership experience managing teams and driving process improvements.
  • Strong proficiency in demand forecasting tools and data analytics platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Anaplan).
  • Strong proficiency in excel, SQL, VBA, and Google BiqQuery, Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and translate insights into actionable strategies.
  • Regularly required to sit, talk, hear; use hands/fingers to touch, handle, and feel. Occasionally required to move about the workplace and reach with hands and arms. Requires close vision.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule based on department and company needs.
