Job Summary The Junior Project Accountant is responsible for assisting with the financial tracking and reporting for construction projects from start to closeout. This role supports project teams by maintaining accurate job cost records, ensuring timely billing, and accounts payable processing. The Junior Project Accountant serves as a critical link between Operations and Finance, ensuring each project's financial performance aligns with company goals and contract requirements. Responsibilities * Set up and maintain job cost budgets, cost codes, change orders and contract records in accounting/project management systems. * Track and analyze costs, commitments, and change orders throughout the life of the project. * Prepare and submit accurate owner billings, including AIA documents and backup. * Reconcile project financials monthly and support work-in-progress (WIP) reporting. * Process and reconcile accounts payables * Collaborate with Project Managers to review job cost reports * Monitor subcontractor invoicing, lien waivers, and payment applications. * Ensure compliance with contract terms, insurance, and tax documentation. * Assist with audits, internal reviews, and client financial reporting requirements. * Support project closeout by ensuring all financial obligations are met and documentation is complete. * Assist in preparing financial data for audits * Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and contract terms * Maintain accurate and organized project financial records Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. * 1-2 years of accounting or project accounting experience, preferably in construction or a related industry. * Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting or project management software. * Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills. * Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Pay Range: $50,000.00-$65,000.00 The base salary range for this position as of posting is Richard's good faith estimate of the possible compensation for this role. The range for this role takes into account the factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.
