Responsibilities

We are growing our team and currently have multiple openings across our system

As an Associate Therapist at PrairieCare, you will play a crucial role in our mission to provide compassionate and effective care. This position involves conducting mental health clinical interviews, performing safety risk and diagnostic assessments, and contributing to the multidisciplinary admissions process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assessment & Consultation: Conduct diagnostic interviews and assessments and develop safety plans for patients when necessary.
  • Facilitate Seamless Admissions: Collaborate with psychiatry to develop provisional diagnoses and justify level of care recommendations. Coordinate admissions to our programs by partnering with care teams and caregivers to ensure smooth admissions to the appropriate level of care.
  • Embrace a Holistic Approach: Bring your knowledge of trauma-informed and culturally responsive care into every interaction, recognizing the unique backgrounds and needs of each patient.
  • Team Support: Provide backup for therapists and perform other clinical duties within your scope as needed, contributing to a collaborative and supportive team environment.

Qualifications

  • A Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a closely related therapeutic field is required. If your degree is in a closely related field and you are pursuing an LPCC, you must demonstrate that your education meets the coursework requirements of the license, either through your own comparison or an unofficial review with the Minnesota Board of Behavioral Health and Therapy.
  • Candidates must be licensed or actively pursuing clinical licensure in the state of Minnesota. This includes receiving clinical supervision and counting clinical supervision hours.
  • Two years of experience in behavioral healthcare preferred.
  • Clinical interviewing and diagnostic assessment skills preferred.
  • Must have knowledge of DSM-5 criteria.
  • Trauma informed, culturally responsive and inclusive lens; oriented and educated in diverse care factors such as gender identity, culture, race, religion, and age.
  • Foundational skills in interviewing and safety/diagnostic assessment.
  • Display a professional, patient-centered attitude in all aspects of performance.
  • Skills to conceptualize clinical presentations and communicate clearly and effectively with Clinical Directors and professionals both internally and within other organizations.
  • Proficient computer skills using Microsoft Office Products including Word and Outlook.
  • Ability to smoothly and rapidly shift between dissimilar tasks.
  • Ability to effectively and efficiently communicate both in written and verbal form.
  • Ability to react quickly and calmly as part of a team to support or intervene in volatile and potentially emergency situations. Ability to actively model self-regulation when within stressful situations.
  • Ability to make effective decisions while in stressful situations and circumstances.
  • After training, be able to manage agitated patients and families.

Compensation for this role ranges from $28-$34 per hour depending on education and experience.
