SUMMARY

The Business Analyst, (Senior Professional Services Engineer I) plays a key role in driving business outcomes by performing business analysis, managing projects and documentation, conducting research, and collaborating cross-functionally to support organizational objectives. This role is also responsible for configuring existing software solutions and contributing to the development of new technologies tailored to client needs.

Success in this position requires strong technical acumen, including the ability to configure a rules-based SaaS platform, as well as a solid understanding of data flows, the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), and Agile methodologies.

The Sr PSE I works under the supervision of the Manager of Configuration Delivery.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Gather and analyze client requirements to develop clear scopes of work, ensuring alignment on expectations, deliverables, and timelines.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, and Product Operations teams to align client needs with broader team objectives.
  • Investigate data discrepancies, conduct root cause analysis, and partner with Engineering to implement corrective actions.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and work with key stakeholders to design and implement effective, scalable solutions.
  • Document client requirements, use cases, and workflow improvements in a clear and structured manner.
  • Lead both client-facing and internal meetings, including discovery sessions, scoping discussions, and project kickoffs.
  • Coordinate and facilitate triage sessions with Product Operations team members to ensure efficient issue resolution.
  • Configure new and existing client accounts within a rules-based SaaS platform, ensuring accuracy and alignment with requirements.
  • Mentor and support new hires and team members, providing guidance, knowledge sharing, and training as needed.


IDEAL EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION & TRAINING:



  • 3-5 years of experience in a software or technology-focused environment such as software development, systems analysis, or database administration.
  • Proficiency in relational databases (RDBMS) and ability to write complex SQL queries; experience with NoSQL/MongoDB is a plus.
  • Proven experience mentoring and guiding junior team members, fostering their growth and development is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and logical thinking skills, with a proactive approach to troubleshooting, problem-solving, and continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, ownership, and commitment to delivering high-quality, on-time results.
  • Experience interpreting complex requirements, identifying gaps, edge cases, and translating them into actionable configurations or solutions.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple, competing priorities and maintain clear documentation.
  • Ability to understand and navigate complex systems, including user interfaces, data flows, APIs, and release cycles.
  • Technical collaboration experience, including the ability to work closely with software developers, database administrators, and cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment, with flexibility to adjust priorities and maintain professionalism under pressure.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and locations (onsite and remote) based on business needs.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% for meetings and training sessions.


METRICS THAT MATTER:



  • Ensure 100% accuracy and on time delivery of assigned projects/tasks.
  • Ensure completion of request within 30% of time estimate to complete.
  • Lead and see through at least 2 special projects assigned by Product Operations Manager each quarter. This may increase on demand.
  • Attend 1 continuing education per calendar year.
  • Regular and Predictive Attendance and Availability


EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE (optional):



  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science,Data Science, Computer Information Systems or similar degreefrom an accredited institution. Businessmajorswith combination ofcertifications and/orexperienceareacceptable.
  • Knowledge and experience in:


    • SaaS, ERP platforms
    • Data Modeling
    • Agile Methodologies (Kanban, Scrum)
    • Ticket Tracking Systems (JIRA)
    • SDLC



At Avetta, we are committed to salary transparency to ensure equitable hiring practices and promote trust. The salary range included in this job posting is based on internal and market data and the role's responsibilities. The final compensation offered to a candidate will be determined by several factors, including work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

The salary range for this position is $76,500 - 125,000k per year, with bonus eligibility.

We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, which includes health, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), and PTO.
