Key Responsibilities:

• Cloud Cost Monitoring:
• Continuously monitor cloud resource utilization and spending across AWS and Azure environments using native tools and third-party monitoring platforms.
• Identify trends and anomalies in cloud usage to proactively address potential cost issues.
• Cost Optimization Strategies:
• Analyze cloud usage patterns and recommend cost-saving measures like right-sizing instances, utilizing reserved instances, and leveraging spot pricing.
• Develop and implement cloud cost optimization policies based on best practices for both AWS and Azure.
• Data Analysis and Reporting:
• Generate detailed reports and dashboards to visualize cloud spending trends, highlighting areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities.
• Utilize data analysis techniques to identify inefficient cloud resource usage and provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
• Collaboration with Teams:
• Work closely with engineering teams to understand application architecture and identify potential cost reduction opportunities.
• Collaborate with finance teams to ensure accurate cloud cost allocation and chargeback processes.
• Cloud Governance and Compliance:
• Assist in establishing cloud governance policies to control cloud spend and promote compliance with organizational standards.
• Monitor cloud usage for potential security risks and ensure adherence to best practices.

Required Skills:

• Technical Expertise:
• Deep understanding of AWS pricing models, services, and cost optimization features.
• Proficient knowledge of Azure pricing models, services, and cost optimization features.
• Familiarity with cloud management tools like AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management, and CloudHealth.
• Data Analysis Skills:
• Strong proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools like Power BI, Tableau, or similar.
• Ability to extract insights from complex cloud usage data and translate them into actionable recommendations.
• Communication and Collaboration:
• Excellent communication skills to effectively present complex cloud cost data to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams across engineering, finance, and operations.

Relevant Experience:

• Proven experience in cloud cost optimization within AWS and Azure environments.
• Background in finance or accounting with a strong understanding of cloud billing practices.
• Experience with cloud automation and scripting to streamline cost management processes.
